I'm going to dictate in my will that I want my body stuffed and put on display to scare small children, so no tombstone for me.

However, if I did have one it would say the same thing as my planned tattoo: "Never hesitate, never regret."

Well, I had originally planned to be compressed into a diamond, and have etched in tiny letters "here lies <name>, as hard in death as he was in life."

Then, explicit instructions would exist to gift it to someone, and for no one to inform that person what it is.

Eventually, they will get it appraised.

However, if I must have a tombstone, something guaranteed to irritate people for the rest of time would be appropriate.

"The president is a dick.

No, the current one."

Can go with that.

I was looking at graves the other day, and, apart from the really sad ones, the best ones were the simple ones, with just a cross, and a small bible verse. I'd go with that. D'you think 'Jesus Wept' would be a bit, you know, pushy?

The saddest one I've ever seen was just a plain white cross that said "A LIFE" on it.
