Lol.. It's about a 4 hour drive from Detroit. About 45 minutes from Toronto and Niagara Falls, at the south-western edge of Lake Ontario.

It's a bit odd, yes. But poverty breeds crime. And immigrants, for the most part are poorer. So you have waves of different immigrants (in the US case) and gang problems and things like that. Listen to anti-immigration people and all they talk about is Hispanics. Go back a hundred or so years, and those same people are talking about the Irish. The Westies were meanies. And MS13 s not a charitable organization either.

The only solution is time. Over time, the recent immigrants will adjust, learn the language etc. etc. The Irish are now one of the highest earning ethnic groups in the US.

Sibby, but how much time? You have many immigrant families, living in the US for generations, that don't seem to be able to adjust to the country.

From everything I've seen and heard it's like the worst place you've ever been to made even worse. If you want to live in the USA, best move to New England. Good pay, low crime, best education, best health, best climate, nice people, etc. Just stay above New Haven and you won't see much crime at all.

A lot of misconceptions happen when regarding dangerous cities. I live in Orlando and I haven't had much of a problem. The only area to avoid as a white person is Parramore Ave., the rest might look dangerous but nobody really bothers you. This is for men, women definitely need to stay inside at night and be careful during the day.
