Japan gets weirder...

Do you know that people like that, while exist in Japan, are not common?

I went to Japan for the first three months of this year, and I realized the weirdos are a minority.

Actually, between the japanese socially excluded minorities, like this guy, and the american socially excluded minorities, like the Unabomber, I take the japanese guy anyday. As far as I know, with some clear exceptions, most of these recluded socially excluded people are inoffensive in Japan.

I am pretty sure there is someone in my country that fell in love with his/her pillow. I am pretty sure there are hundreds of people in love with their dogs in america, and with their horses in China. So what? They are harmless, let them be.

The only reason that the casualties from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the associated atrocities are not recognised as war crimes is because they were done by the eventual victor. And because of the atrocities that the Japanese army perpetrated against POWs and other personell.

I never fail to be amazed when this argument starts at the back and forth of people trying to one-up each other with atrocities. Can't we say that it was just bad on both sides, a war crime and an evil act and leave it be?

The targets were industrial, which they de centralized and scattered inside densly populated residential areas.

Nah, happened with each and every anime I tried. Rurouni Kenshin, Holic, Lupin, NGE, Tsubasa, Akira, Porco Rosso. Even games like Final Fantasy. I was happy to find at last an anime friendly friend who took to all those Akihabara and Shibuya stores. And she was fairly normal, with the exception that she liked anime.

Besides, I would take one if I had no women in life, even then, I think I would take a robot. The pillow is a last resort!

And, being Grave_n_idle, I'm sure this is not just supposition on your part. To make such a dogmatic statement about the exact reason why the bombs were dropped, you must have proof.

I have at least as much evidence as the claim I was responding to, which I notice you didn't question.

There are two different nuclear technologies accounted for by the two devices, that had not ever been tested 'in theatre'. There were other possible ways to address the Japan situation without dropping nuclear technology on civilian centres, but the nuclear option was pushed through anyway.

Sure, there's a lot of talk about sparing casualties. But talk is talk.
