I can answer the question right now.

Reasons Why People Hate Mormons:

1) They believe Jesus came back to Earth a 'second' time, in the Americas, to bring Christianity to the hedonistic peoples,

2) Tragically, many fundamentalist polygamist groups fall under the 'Mormon' umbrella,

3)At times, they live in 'weird' combines (as is with many CLDS sects), giving each other names like 'Starlight' and 'Moonbeam',

4) Big Love...

but most of all:

They come to your house and push their damn beliefs on you; I can't think of many other religions in modern American society that have such a 'missionary' presence, at least attempting to bring God to your front door...

Nobody likes when 'random' people knock on their door, ask them to pray, and show them pictures of Jesus Christ with Native Americans...

I don't like the Church of LDS where it helped Prop. 8., just like I don't like the Federal government where it did DOMA. Mormons as a people I have nothing against, and in fact I find them much more pleasant on average than non-Mormons.

Well, apart from that one time. It's amazing when you can troll them by having legitimate questions and politeness.

Why have people been trolling Mormon.org? That's kinda assholish BTH.

Mainly because they're one of the few groups that have responded in a way that's not complaining about it, but not in a manner that causes the trolls to leave. They actually push back, so it goes into a war of the trolls versus the Mormon counter-troll brigade. So, the way I see it at least, it's like a healthy battlefield. Kind of like if we put Kim-Jong Il and a South Korean android into a sword duel for all eternity, except not quite as awesome.

I dont hate them, I love their choir, however i find it laughable at most that God spoke to their founder soo yyeah.

Since all Christians hold that belief, I don't find them particularly laughable by comparison.

christians don't like them because mormons pretend like they are christians, and this matters deeply.
i don't like them because their entire religion is deeply silly, on a level that makes the silliness of normal religion seem plausible, and i find the promotion of that sort of demonstrably false irrationalism to be no good for a democratic society.
