To my knowledge, Catholicism doesn't ban alcohol unlike Mormonism, Islamic denominations - and Buddhism (not banned - but strongly discouraged).

From that regard, it is in fact, a highly commendable persuasion.

I now see that Buddhism must also be eradicated from the face of the earth. ;)

(Though I happen to hate red wine.)

I think you can get white wine at some masses, but don't quote me on that one as I, strangely enough, do not typically partake of the wine portion of communion.

Part of the explanation may be that mormons believe a man put 'magic' seer stones in his hat and 'translated' them into the book of mormon. This same man, before 'translating' the book of moron, was arrested in 1826 by putting 'magic' seer stones and then his face into his hat to con people into giving him money so he could find hidden treasure.

Crazier than that, he clamed 'god' ordered him to commit adultery and marry 11 other mens wives, 2-14 year olds, and 33 women in secret. He was lynched when the husbands found out, LOL!

Which is why I ridicule. This sort of nonsense cannot be hated. So OP, there you have your answer.

Think about the numbers in terms that we can relate to. Remove eight zeros from the numbers and pretend it is the household budget for the fictitious Jones family:
-Total annual income for the Jones family: $21,700
-Amount of money the Jones family spent: $38,200
-Amount of new debt added to the credit card: $16,500
-Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710

-Amount cut from the budget: $385

I'm pretty sure that official church policy before 1890 (celestial polygamy) has absolutely nothing to do with the current state of affairs...

One of the first tenets of the faith is that "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost."

Simply put, folk don't understand us as Mormons. Which honestly is fine, I don't like forcing my views on other people. Here's how we're 'taught.' To be kind and understanding and 'Christlike Examples' (ie brotherly kindness, charity, humility, diligence, etc) to our brothers and sisters on earth, because call us crazier we believe Adam and Eve to be literal, and never bash another religion. Unfortunately, even the non heretics have a tendency to, discriminate? Be biased? Closed? We're encouraged to be open and understanding, but you're muscling past human nature there and it's hard. What ticks me off, is we don't have classes on how to bash other religions or tell other religions that they're wrong. Sunday school consists of spending a year on Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, and Church history/modern revelation (yeah I'm full aware we're bizzare, whatever) And yet, I've been to countless other denominations and they spend their sunday school bashing the JWs or Catholics or Jews or Hillary Clinton. That's not to say that 'Christians' are inherintly (sp?) bible bashers, but my experience is that people won't leave us alone, when we don't bring it to their court.

Being a devot Mormon, because I have faith in my religion and all it's bizarre practices, if you did believe in God, then you would understand that he was good no? Then if there is good there must be evil no? And if you we're God's true church, then evil would want to stop it, create all sorts of opposition, no?

You might ask yourself, why all religions get bashed on, if you're the only true church? Because truth is in every religion, just not the complete truth. Call be a bigot, call me a closeminded blindman, I've heard everything. I've seen Godmakers, I've faced the trials and accusations of countless non believers, but I refuse to denounce my faith because frankly, it's a luxury. I don't have the luxury of just believing anymore. Call me crazy, who cares, but to answer your question, it gets annoying, but we will remain wierd, and we will remain the hot topic of bashing and ridicule. I can't care anymore. Because I know my church is true.

Also a very similar notion to both religious 'groups' is the current adherence to texts not even present in the respective 'bibles'. Many current Christian ideologies, including the 'end of days' concept, are based on texts written after the bible.

Similarly, the entire Islamic 'holy war' concept is based off texts not in the Qur'an.
