No, but a lot of churches are like that so you can't get mad at just them for it.

Yes they are. There is an openly Gay member of the Arizona State Congress I believe who is still part of the Church. Can't remember his name for the life of me though.

I actually spent some time talking to some Mormon missionaries a few years back. I eventually cut them loose because I couldn't stand disappointing the poor dears anymore. They were trying so hard to convert me and I hated to see them wasting their time.

Anyway, it's not that different to any other sect. They're somewhat more insular, even isolationsist, than you'll find in most modern religions. And they're very serious about 'conventional family values'.
There's a juicy undercurrent of sexism running through their dogma and a fairly condescending attitude towards other Christian denominations. On the other hand, every Mormon I've met has been extremely polite and friendly.

It's not the most open-minded or modernistic of religons. I can certainly see people taking issue with some Mormon beliefs (as I do), but I don't think hatred is warranted.

Well he "inspires" them, however since man did hold the pen during the initial writings and the various translation and editing since the initial writings, some of the inspiration got lost in the editing process.

Eh from what The Bible describe, if you get into Heaven, then the only thing you're allowed to do is stroke Yahweh's Ego. You basically get to worship him for eternity. I'd rather be in Hell.

There are some nice Southern Baptist, but the majority of ones I've met tends to be annoying and ignorant. It gets kinda old when you live in the Southern Baptist Belt and all you hear from them is how you're going to Hell and how they're better than you because they worship Jesus the right way, or how they worship Jesus and you don't.

He is but there is a tide within the Church already to change policy on this. Recently a Church Leader said something that was rather derogatory of homosexuals and it has led to open backlash from Members. I think people assume Mormons are like some kind of hivemind that do not question church stances couldn't be farther from the truth. I would love to see a change of policy but I doubt it will happen even though at this point they are purposefully ignoring scientific evidence that sexuality isn't a choice and are causing themselves a major backlash amongst the membership with their backwards views.

I'm not sure which part was sarcasm there. The earlier linked criticisms of LDS page mentions some cases where gay Mormons commit suicide because of constant homophobia in the church that just kills them inside (so they then complete the job).
