I live in Vegas, born here. I want to move from Vegas, somewhere North, somewhere Northeast, Boise, Idaho would be cool, or Massachusetts, or Wisconsin or Syracuse, New York, but no, my parents have to destroy my hopes(hopefully I can persuede them), and say "We are staying in Nevada, because we have lived here for years" even though this damn state is a failure. I fucking love where I live: San Francisco. There's all kinds of culture, lovely rainy weather, food, people, and beautiful landscapes (albeit to the North and South of the City). Too bad there's no snow, though.

For the longest time I wanted to move to Vegas. Snow sucks. And how is Nevada a failure?

I love where I live. I live in the SF Bay Area, and I honestly couldn't be happier. Great climate, nice people, low crime rate... The only problem is the exorbitant cost of living.

Part of the cost of living is due to those other benefits you mention.

Eh, NYC has its upsides and downsides. Personally, I'd rather living here as opposed to, say, Houston or Miami. I prefer a nor-easter over a Category 5 hurricane, thank you very much.

You can evacuate the occasional hurricane. You cannot escape the sky high taxes of every kind, year round. And prices.

Every place you go, there will be good things and bad things. The trick is to find a place with bad things you can tolerate.

Well I sure as hell can't tolerate Vegas. Like someone else said, Vegas is good for rich people, and tourists, not so good for regular people raising a family. I am having trouble persuading my parents though since they were raised here, maybe I will have to wait another four years till college to get out of this crappy place.

It's cheap. It's low on taxes. Sounds good. For regular people.

"With ease"? Moving to a new place is quite expensive, and takes planning nor matter what you do. You need to find a relatively cheap place to live, a new job and so on. Sure complaining doesn't help, but if one really dislikes where one currently lives, why not let out the frustration somehow?
Not to mention, if you want to move to another country you need to deal with citizenship and such. You can't just "pack your stuff and go", unless you want to move to Somalia.

I live in Virginia and I absolutely hate it! I know that people are supposed to be "nice" in small towns and rural areas, but its actually very rare you meet even one polite person! The weather is worse though. In the summer we get extreme humidity with tempetures climbing up to 100 degrees, and in the winter we get freezing cold temperatures with up to 20 inches of snow. I have recently visited LA and San Diego and theyre both beautiful. If I could pick my dream place to live it would definatley be one of those 2.
