Though he says "Turkish" and could mean Seljuk or Ottoman, "Greek" wasn't even Greek (Alexander was Macedonian), "German" could be Holy Roman or the 3rd Reich or the German Empire of the 1890s-1910s, and "Galatic" is probably Galatian, when it should be Galactic.

That's the thing though; they were all successor states to one another. I think a poll with contemporaries would be better.

The problem is that it would be a foregone conclusion, as the Roman Empire would win by a landslide, since it is the only Classical empire that the average public can think of.

The most logical assumption of what "German Empire" refers to would be the German Empire, the official name of Germany from its inception until 1943.
