Wow....That's pretty light....modern militaries are expected to be able to carry 75lbs of equipment with them.....
Mind you....the Chinese were using cloth at this time....metal was a rarity, so it went on all the weapons to arm the millions of people in the country lol.

I am kind of guessing on the weight, it could have been more. The point is, the ancient hoplite armies would often stand around in the hot Mediterranean sun for hours wearing all that hardware and then be told off to go charge those chaps over there. Victor Davis Hanson's The Western Way of War is a good book on the subject. Modern troops also have motorized vehicles to to help schlep those 75 pounds around and I venture that when the shooting starts, most of that ends up on the ground right away.
