You don't need to spend money on that.![]()
Seriously, I said if they use the same engine and they made the graphics better, I would be impressed.
In short: Graphics are one of the most overprioritized parts of a game, and it's only like that because they make the game sell better. And because of people like you, who complain that great graphics are bad simply because they aren't the best in relation to every other game (which is even worse than it should be due to the tendency to compare games that are a few years old to ones that are a few months old).
Bullshit. Where the fuck did I fucking complained? I really don't like being accused of shit I didn't do.

Indeos wrote:To make them better, they need to spend time and money. Money to pay the people whose jobs include graphics work, and time those people could be spending doing other things. Factor in time waiting for graphics projects to finish so other ones can start and a reasonable amount of delays/errors in the graphics work and you've got a hell of a lot more time and money being used up. To be fair to you, I assumed you meant the engine responsible for gameplay and physics, not the graphics engine.
You must have missed your last post with the image comparison, then.

just curious, as recently I picked up Formula One 2001 for PS2 and there is a mode in the game called Spectator, that lets you pick the starting grid and just watch the race... I like it, but can't for the life of me fathom why something like that would've been put in...

People are getting lazier nowadays. It's getting to the point where they don't want to press any buttons when they play a video game.

Following the book isn't important to me... though I honestly didn't even learn until today that the game was based off a novel. I mean, yeah, there's plenty of objects in-game that say "Hey, look at me, I'm a book! And I have Metro 2033 as my cover!" but I never really had dots to connect.
I might have to pick up the novel at some point.

It's a good read.
Then you're going to love Last Light. Since they decided to stop trying to follow the book they can now focus on their own storyline and do what they want to do.Coffee Cakes wrote:
Point. But the game I'm talking about was made way back in 2001...
I didn't think gamers got lazy until 09 at least...
They gotta plant that seed early to make that appeal.

I just love that the game actually creeps me out for once. I mean, with other shooters, you run through a level, and if you die, oh well. When I'm shooting at Nazis or Reds, I'm fine, but when I'm walking in a dark corridor and I hear a growl from an indiscernable location... I mean, it's insane. Rescuing a kid is itself exciting when I know there's going to be someone telling me when things are trying to kill me. There aren't many games out there that are this enthralling. And the way currency works in this game is fantastic, too.

Haven't really seen any trends going on with racers. Only thing I've seen that really sticks is a s*** ton of cars and customizing them. But that's kindof the basics.

Those are street games, then.
I'm mostly into NASCAR and F1 games with a side of hockey and NCAA football.
