It wasn't so much intelligence. The Dwemer crippled the Snow Elves to the point they became degenerated monsters.

Y'know, seeing as how this was done with a fungus, best to avoid eating mushrooms found in Dwemer ruins, come to think of it.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

Mer Superior to Men?

Impressive Magical abilities within them certainly but enough to declare them superior to non Mer Mages outright when their have been impressive examples from Humanity in that regard as well.

Civiliaization wise? Goodie for them their's existed for a bit before Humanities it doesn't exactly seem like they have done much with that head start.

A handful of impressive artifacts that they didn't create even corrupted three of them filled them with enough pride to call themselves Gods.

._. Yeah i don't exactly see the superiority here.

I see a bunch of Ego and a civilization that is going to fall in on it self due to that ego.

No, they're superior to men. They've descended from the Aedra, they're a higher form of life and vastly superior. Men really are just slightly better off than the Beast Races. Mer however are technically holy.

Descended from The folks that got listed as the nine divines? My ES Lore is a bit rusty but i was under the impression that the Nedic one of the first offshoots of Man was also created by the Aedric and intermengled with their Elven Cousins creatinging the Offshoots of Elven Kind apart from Altmer. and also creating the offshoots of Humanity.

And of course Nedic is just another term for Nordic the first and only true representation of Man.

And Mer Holy  Maybe if they acknowledged all the Aedric they could be considered their children but seeing as how they don't acknowledge the ninth Aedric being i don't exactly consider them in keeping with their forebear's decision when they created the Mundus.

But Hey if they don't want to acknowledge man as Holy that's their Business not mine.

All this talk about Elder Scrolls (specifically the conflicts and all) reminds me of that German team working on Tamriel Total War.

Here's the TTW hub.

Looks like it could be pretty good, I'd say.

I need to play some Total War games. Sounds interesting. People do some really impressive stuff if they try with mods.

My favorite mod I got on Oblivion was the one that added like over 100 freaking spells.

Also, have you seen the Game of Thrones in Minecraft? Pretty damn impressive. Some seem to be them giving a random guess at what places look like (that were never shown in the show yet), and some are based off of stuff we know. All very well done.

I'm just in a Total War spell right now - it's why I keep bringing up Total War mods specifically. But, in general, mods can be great.

Just look at the mods for Deus Ex 1 - there's this one and this one

The second one I'm showing you is highly acclaimed. Just google its name and you'll see how so.

Oh, and then there's this one.

He thought he was a GEP gun.

So I just got my first hands-on run with Mechwarrior Online's open beta....holy shit. If that's the Beta then the finished game might just be a contender for game of the year. The open beta is just that fantastic, blows the previous iterations by and large away, even if the campaign had to be scrapped in the name of streamlining things.

I was considering playing that, until I found out it was first-person only. Why bother driving a huge walking death machine if you never see it actually fighting?

Because it wants to give you a cockpit view obviously.

It wants to simulate what the actual Pilot would see inside the machine.

It makes sense with a Mecha game.

Because it's an open beta...plus even in first person mode your mech is towering over trees and buildings, giving one the sense of "Holy shit I'm in a giant walking war machine."

The real seller is integrated combat. It's furious as all hell but scout mechs can really fuck your day up if they're working in conjunction with a Catapult or something armed with a Gauss Rifle.

I think they would've been better off giving the option to go first or third-person, but each to there own. Hell, it worked with the previous game.

I was gonna say, third person didn't really work that well in any of the Mechwarrior games from 2 onwards. The cockpits were never really that obstructive anyway and the rear camera was...problematic.

Here's the beauty of Mechwarrior: there are no "ultimate" versions of any mech, despite the mechlab being awesome. Every mech has the same critical slots so it all comes down to weight. The other bit of genius is that the range of weapons is cut back while still being diverse, leading to some interesting matchups.

That reminds me that I need to try the "indie" game Hawken

Also, now that the PS4 is announced, what the hell is with people suddenly thinking all of these games announced years ago are coming out on the PS4? I've seen it with Beyond: Two Souls, Hawken, and The Last of Us now....

My sister said it was hilarious. It also had a Baldur's Gate 2 reference. I mean yeah, it had a reference anyway with the Miniature Giant Space Hamster, but they added more onto that.

Edit: Just watched the other clip posted.
