I don't want any of them... I'd be choosing between the lesser of evils. :(

What sane reasonable person would vote for Huckabee?

Anyway...in all actuality I'm gonna go with Kucinich or Obama, depending on numerous factors, but please, please, please don't elect John Thune...I live in SoDak and he is/was our senator for quite a while...

kucinich isnt going to run

is thune up for re-election in '12? it might be a good way to get him out of the senate.

why do people keep saying he is handsome? to me he looks like he is in training to be the crypt-keeper

ms palin had an excuse for being unprepared (stupid) about national and international issues when she was chosen to run as vp so suddenly.

she hasnt studied up since then. i guess i wont call her an idiot until she declares her candidacy for president. until then she is brilliant at making big money from her fans. its a great american success story.

I just don't like her social policies. She herself seems like an okay person but not one I wish to support.

Did you notice the "Line of the Day" link in the stuff below the article you linked?

Via Wonkroom comes this back-and-forth at the Senate Finance hearings, between Jon Kyl, the Arizona Republican, and Debbie Stabenow, the Michigan Democrat. The subject is requirements that all insurance policies cover certain benefits.

KYL: "I don't need maternity care."

STABENOW: "I think your mom probably did."

I'm hard-pressed to think of a single exchange that better captures the sensibilities of our two political parties--or the principle of shared risk upon which universal coverage is based.

Welcome to American politics! If this is your first visit, you'll want to make sure that your insurance coverage, privately obtained, of course, is up to date and that you have made any revisions to your will that may be necessary. Now, sit back, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride!

i think for the purposes here, specifically religious insanity comes out a wash, and so can be factored out.

now you are learning, my son. THAT is the paradox of the graph. romney and huntsman are mormons and yet they are by far the sanest of the republican candidates.

The trouble with electing a "less shitty than average" Republican president is that he brings the "more shitty than average" Republicans to power with him. As bad as the Democrats may get, they are not as bad as the GOP and so I can't vote for a moderate Republican on the national level. Locally, maybe. Any office in Washington, no.

yeah

i thought that too until this most recent booktour/political campaign he has been doing. the man cant even say that it would be a disaster to not raise the US debt limit for fear that he will upset the lunatic fringe of the republican party.

he has made himself unfit to be president.
