Actually, if we got rid of those states, excepting Virginia which I think is about average, for the most part our development ratings would go up. I'm sorry this upsets you, but deep red states are fucked on every conceivable level, while states that haven't had to deal with the insanity that Republicans bring to bear aside from in a few enclaves of sanity are doing better.

Actually, you're wrong. The West is the only part of the country that hasn't been growing, economically, the past few years. The south has only been Republican since the 1980's to now. Considering most of the Old Northwest, primarily Republican, grew the most shows you need to shut the fuck up.

Hey hey now, let's keep it civil. But seriously, the Old Northwest grow the most? Because of the recession, their economies have practically tanked, look at Detroit as proof, whole neighborhoods abandoned, buildings shells of their former selves.

http://politicalderby.com/2011/06/13/which-states-economy-grew-the-most-from-2009-2010/ Yeah, but the Old Northwest isn't one of the categories here. You have to do the math yourself.

That, and the south is growing but is entirely dependent on federal funds to keep it's economy from going the way of Michigan.

Do you realize that Texas is the largest center of Defense Industry in the U.S.? Texas would retain the capacities and infrastructure to thoroughly defend itself against any Mexican Invasion. Good riddance my ass the lose of Texas would also mean a lose of a major source of federal revenue and economic capacity. Plus the Texan Dollar would be just as strong if not stronger than the falling U.S. Dollar. So Hell yah onwards to progress Texas. Mexico could try some shit if it wanted to but ummm once they see the Flashes of Texan Abrams storming into there country side they'll think twice about attack a Texas not obligated or restrained by the Federal Government.

That doesn't disprove the fact that all of the south barring Texas is completely dependent on federal funds, largely do to too low taxes.

Truuue but people don't realize that Alaska actually would be the most worst off. Which means it's the most heavily subsidized state. California at least has a large tax base, Alaska is pretty much Siberia in America.
