This is one of the most interesting trends I've seen so far in life. Atheists know more about Christianize then anyone else. Which begs the question is that in pouring so much into all the little bits that don't make sense are they missing the big picture?

Admittedly I haven't been reading the posts on here, I just started with the first post and I am now posting my reply but I for one am fully convinced being homosexual is NOT a choice. It is a trait which is abundant in the natural world, just as an example I work at a small zoo, which has less than 150 animals (a lot of them birds) and we have not one, but two pair of animals which are homosexual...

As far as it being a choice, therefore not worth of protection respect i.e. hospital visits and marriage, then the same thing should go for behaviors which are without a doubt a choice and learned lifestyle which we in the United States offer great deals of respects, benefits, and protections i.e. Religion

Not exactly. The idea is that it's a single God, expressed in three different persons.

These persons, while distinct from one another, are all still that same one being.

Methinks you haven't studied your own denomination too much, coming from a Southern Baptist.

Baptists, Southern, Missionary, Free-will, etc. included, usually are "Trinitarian" and this is simple yet complicated to understand.

It basically boils down to this: there is the Holy Spirit, God the Father, and the Son of God. The are all manifestations of God, with God the Father being the "pre-eminent" of the three, so to speak. Jesus, the Son of God, left so that the Holy Spirit can roam the Earth (paraphrasing a little), implying that apparently, only one manifestation can "inhabit" the Earth at a time.

If you need to think about it on a more down to Earth idea, think of God as a family. The Father leads the family, with the Spirit and the Son both being a part of the family (God) but subject to the Father.

Rather than hijack the thread, I thought I'd create another thread here dealing with the topic. This has been one of those arguments that the social Conservative and right wing love to tout out from time to time. "Arrgghhh It's a choice, homosexuality is a choice!"

Oh really? Ok, so by that logic, Heterosexuality is also a choice. I mean if you can be choose to be gay, then you can choose to be straight. So, my question to those who believe that homosexuality is a choice is this. Why not make out with a person of the same gender? I mean if it's a choice, then you should have no problem with the simple act of making out with someone of your own gender.

As for the rest of us, what are your thoughts on this whole mythos about homosexuality being a choice?

It doesn't matter to me either way. If the right wants to call homosexuality a choice they still have no right to discriminate against it the way they do.
