I have an acquaintance who uses Jew as an insult. I know he's an anti-semite so I used to think he was just accusing people of being jewish. Until I asked him if he thought the Navy SEALs would beat the Isreali Commandos on Deadliest Warrior and his reasoning to his answer was "The navy SEALs are all Jews". I informed him that Isreal is made up entirely of Jews but he persisted with the Navy SEALs being Jews.

It sucks that people are using words for groups of people that aren't liked as just an insult with no meaning. It just shows how ~~ignorant~~ stupid some people are :palm:

Jew and Gay are used as insults by immature people these days.
Im in HS and I cant form a freindship with anyone who uses the phrase,

Asians and Jews are more alike than you think, well the stereotypes at least. Both groups value education and are economically savvy.
To answer the question given by the OP, I have yet to see the word "Jew" used as an insult, apart from an anti-Semite. Although, it has occasionally been used as a good-natured mockery, or whatever its called (For instance, if a person were to pick up a penny, his/her friend would say, "You Jew.").
Then again, I'm a New Yorker, where you see Jewish people everywhere.

Kids used to call me "Jew" in school, and it was intended as an insult. They'd call me and a few others "Jews" because we were Shia Muslims. Their other word of choice was "Rafidhi", which basically means traitor, or fair game. They were the ignorant ones, though, most kids were cool. Jew isn't as common an insult as you'd think, in Pakistan. Rafidhi or Kafir is much more common, apart from the usual filthy cuss words.

Well I'm South Asian - for some reason, asian also seems to be synonmous with East-Asian. I value education but am not really economically savvy (ironic considering I actually am an economics major).

I've lived in New York, I never noticed any anti-semitism. Then again, im not particularly perceptive.
