It had a surprise twist when Othello tried to smother his wife, except she was already undead. Othello's shock only lasted long enough for her to put the bite on him.

I liked the shopping mall shoot out scene.

Because if you read the thread, then you'll know that the answer to your first question (in your previous post to me) is already in the thread, and also that what you say is my "theory" is, in fact, nothing of the sort. It is my hope that will motivate you not to ask me silly questions.

I have re-read the entire thread, and after your presentation about the History Channel episode and its theory, which I had seen before (we find "giants" in the folklore of many peoples in the eastern Mediterranean, including Hebrews as well as Greeks, and in northern Europe: both regions where the predominant fossils as Pleistocene mega-mammals; whereas we find lots of "dragon" stories in the eastern Levant, China, and the Rocky Mountains, where the predominant fossils are more obviously saurian; this does not explain why dragons then became popular in European folklore, but I still like the theory), you have this passage "Of course, the ancient Greeks did not make up the stories about giants to explain the bones they found. They used the bones they found to illustrate and claim realism for stories they already had." with no explanation of why you think the Greeks had giant stories in the first place.
Muravyets wrote:But since I can't answer any questions until you can attest that you have read the thread, let me pass the time by asking you one: Do you have some kind of an inner drive to hijack threads by challenging me on stupidly obvious points that anyone who claims to be well read would already know, but which have not one single thing to do with the topic?

I see nothing at all "obvious" about the issue. If every culture in the world had "giant" stories, that would be one thing, but it is not so. I am a voracious reader, always have been (I am currently reader Harper's "Fall of the Roman Empire: A New History of Rome and the Barbarians" and some books on the Python programming language; I recently finished re-reading Woods' "The Merovingian Kingdoms" and volume one of Meier's "A Marginal Jew"), but there is some book out there presenting an alternate theory of how "giant" stories originated, I have not come across it, pray enlighten me.

Other scientists, called creation scientists, have a different idea about when dinosaurs lived. They believe they can solve any of the supposed dinosaur mysteries and show how the evidence fits wonderfully with their ideas about the past, beliefs that come from the Bible...
Do you agree (of course you don't, you'd be eaten alive on NS if you did...nah I'm just fuckin' with you)? Do you disagree (yes you do because you love me and don't want me to cry by saying otherwise)?
What do you think?

I don't think that Dragons and Dinosaurs were one in the same. In fact, if dragons existed, I don't know any other dinosaur that had extraordinary powers that Dragons of legend exhibit (i.e. ability to shoot fire, ice, water, fly, talk??)

I thought Dragons came from Pern? - Grays Harbor

by Querinos
So let me tell you a little about my past with Southern Baptist and their dinosaur explinations; Which can be broken down into two parts:

Sunday school pre "Jurasic Park"- A smart kid in the 'class' asked about dinosaurs and where they were in the bible. The adult aswered back "How do you know those aren't just oddly shapped rocks that some idiot said fit together like our bones." Smart kid was promptly shut up and really did not see much of him after that.

Sunday school post "Jurasic Park"- Heard all around Sunday school: "Saint George 'the Dragon Slayer' really killed a dinosaur.", "(So and so) killed a dinosaur in the time of Christ.", and "(Blah blah) knocked out a small dinosaur he thought was a dragon with simple stick to the head." So on and so forth...

The Christian revision of history is nothing new.

Also, nothing new is someone ripping on Christianity for no reason. Everything and I mean everything (ALL organizations) have asses and lunatics who will say anything and spit insults. You shouldn't judge the group by the few weak ones.

In addition, Christianity doesn't rewrite history. If you went to history class there really probably wasn't a mention of much in the Bible. Remember when you went over Egypt? Nope nothing there. :eyebrow:

Why didn't the so called "smart" kid say that rocks are made of different material than bones? Huh?
Why isn't the Sunday school teacher nurturing? Huh? Not all teachers are the same. There is always at least one that is helpful and exhibits the ability to foster a child's intelligence. Sunday schools are no different. If the teacher was really a teacher they wouldn't have been a smart-ass about it.

In addition, we don't really know that we are putting the right bones in the right places, but I highly doubt that we don't at least have a general idea of what each dinosaur kind of looked like.

That's what I said. Apparently they'll enjoy it when I'm burning in Hell with my scientist friends. I just laughed.

Well, first off you only go to hell if you do something unforgivable or neglect to ask for forgiveness for what you've done (keep that in mind ;) )

So, perhaps the Dragons are there with you? Hell is full of fire...

Mind you that not all scientists are Atheists and not all Atheists will inevitable go to hell that is up to God.

P.S. The name "Creationism" is misleading. Largely, this "theory" is not very representative of the view of Christianity, they just use Christianity for their agenda. Which isn't uncommon. Lots of people use religion for their own agenda. I mean look at terrorists, they aren't really following Muslim religion they're just touting it emptily. I really only totally agree with the blanket statement that Creationists believe that we were created by an intelligent designer. That's about it on that one... :eyebrow:
