Praying is pointless and stupid. I have never prayed, and I never will.

I've seen people have what I can only assume to be a full-body orgasm when the Holy Spirit was called to come upon them.

It was really quite amazing, if more than a little scary.

Also this is entirely serious and not at all an innuendo.

Yes, for purely personal and spiritual connection, I am of the personal philosophy that God can't or won't interfere with our lives so directly as He is purported to have in the Bible. Even so looking at the Bible, His more obvious miracles were few and far apart. So I don't expect him to change my life or my luck, and I don't pray to Him to do things anymore, just for guidance and a spiritual connection. I take a more Zen approach to it I suppose.

Have you ever prayed?
Yes.

If so, what benefits did it bring?
As should be expected, none.

Who did you pray to?
Christian God. Haven't tried others.

How did you pray?
Mentally, mostly. Occasionally, verbally. Never really had a specific "position", like kneeling on my knees with my hands folded.

How many prayer experiences have you had?
Again, none. As should be expected.

Eh, it was mostly a response to Gagatron's apparent belief that not having faith in prayer is somehow wrong, despite that looking across the posts, almost none of our collective prayers were answered.

Besides, when I was alone, I found a friend. A real friend. It was awesome.

Praying is pointless (unless you fool yourself - in which case, it's stupid).

I guess my original statement should have been that it was pointless or stupid, rather than pointless and stupid. Even better:
Praying is pointless and/or stupid.
