He's still labeling members of the largest sect of Christianity as evil. But meh, I made no serious contribution to the thread, so I will now.

I have never had a real problem with gays, nor do I think any of my family or friends do. Sure everyone makes the odd joke here or there, but I don't think any one I know would actually fault you for being gay, and all of my friends are either Christian or Protestant (We live in the Suburbs. A heavily Italian Suburb, not a lot of Jews) and my entire Family is Catholic. I know for a fact my family isn't apposed to gays because my Aunts sister in law is a lesbian, so I'm pretty sure theres no hatred there lol. I just think it's widely misconstrued because the Vatican will come out with a statement every now and then basically saying gays are bad (which I don't like, Vatican needs to go through some major changes and it's stance on homosexuality is definitely one of them) which then makes everyone think all Catholics are homophobes, when in fact most Catholics probably don't care whether you're gay or not. I wont speak for any of the Orthodox or Protest churches because I don't know them all too well, but I'd assume it's much the same.

Ravenvalles wrote:No, but often those who preach redemption have decriminalized some sins.

What do you mean? Redemption doesn't really do that, all it says is that you have to live a life of good works to be a faithful Christian.

The law is dead. Christ paid the penalty for everyone's sins. Works can not pay a bill that has already been paid. To attempt to do so, throws Christs sacrifice back in his face. Those that truly believe in the lamb of Christ, also believe in grace. That is what humans have a hard time embracing. Grace is spirit lead, and follows God's intent, not the law.

Once again I will state that I do not believe in redemption, I believe in reconciliation. God canceled our debt, because we just continued to insist we owed one. In reality, we owed none, What is required of us, is to follow Gods intent and direction. That is reconciliation.

Redemption means your past sins are forgiven IF, and ONLY IF you are willing to take it, which means you have to live a lifestyle that God approves of...

Once again, works do not lead to salvation. That is why the lamb was required. Man can not fulfill the law.

Leviticus 20:13 - If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
Romans 1:26-27 - For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
These words might give you some guidance Gaga and help you to understand why others think you to be a misguided or even false Christian.
