That was the case for me, black people didn't exist in Northern Ireland until very recently, so I didn't see any of them growing up, although a few friends were ethnic Chinese, there wern't any attractive women from other ethnicities. So I was quite set in my attraction to my own since there wasn't anything else in my mind and formative years. However a year or two after going to multicultural Bolton in England, after the culture shock of seeing Muslim women in the saudi suit wore off I started to notice how there were quite a few damn sexy Indian girls around the place. It, diversified my palette, let's say. Heh. I'm just wondering is your upbringing situation similar to mine? If I never went to Bolton I imagine I'd be the same as I was then, and how that relates to you?

I live in Minnesota (US). From when I was taking a GIS class, we did an ethnic breakdown of the state... IIRC, it was about mid-nineties % for white people, and most of them are going to be Germanic (the "ic" at the end goes to include Scandinavians, as well as "Germans" proper.) It's a very Germanic state for sure. Though when I lived in St. Cloud there were an increasing number of Somalians. Now I live in the North Metro area, which is primarily white, but occasionally I'll visit a more Southern metro city, and the racial makeup is entirely different - almost foreign feeling. I do have a tendency to find some arabs, and Indian women attractive... they simply are not my first choice, and they don't seem... as numerous. It could simply be that where I live the white, Germanic women vastly outnumber any others... but even on TV and such my standards generally hold.

On the topic, since I'm almost certainly >95% European stock, I voted for Indian, Amerindian, and mixed. I'm not as big of a fan of East Asians as many white guys (sure, there are some pretty ones, but meh), and for some reason, most straight-up black girls I've known tend to bear scents I am particularly unfond of (blame marketing?). There are a lot of really adorable mixed-race girls, although I suppose most of the ones I'm thinking of are half white (& sometimes more).

Basically, yep. Call center. We're crammed in like sardines, paid almost nothing (commission only), etc. But it passes the time.

If I had to choose my top three, they would be African American, Mestizo, and Indian. Although I am white, I find myself attracted to women outside my race more so than within my own race (that doesn't mean there aren't white women that I'm attracted to, of course). I don't know why it is, I guess part of it is that I prefer girls with darker hair (read jet black), and white women are more likely to be blonde or redhead.

It is pretty well documented in the psychology literature that people seek out similarity in long term relationships, as a statistical generality. In the extreme cases, this can happen.

Not to say there aren't exceptions, but that's the typical tendency.
