Conspiracies

Postby Genivar » Thu Dec 09, 2010 9:06 am

What are your favorite conspiracy theories? What are the weirdest and most disturbing conspiracies you've heard of?
In case of forum argument, I'm on the side of the Socialists.

But guess what – your religious wars, jihads, crusades, inquisitions, censoring of free speech, brainwashing of children, murdering of albinos, forcing girls into underage marriages, female genital mutilation, stoning, pederasty, homophobia, and rejection of science and reason offends me. So I guess we’re even.” - Mike Treder

I heard that a bunch of people from the middle east conspired to blow up some stuff here in the US.
Venicilian: wow. Jesus hung around with everyone. boys, girls, rich, poor(mostly), sick, healthy, etc. in fact, i bet he even went up to gay people and tried to heal them so they would be straight.
The Parkus Empire: Being serious on NSG is like wearing a suit to a nude beach.
New Kereptica: Since power is changed energy over time, an increase in power would mean, in this case, an increase in energy. As energy is equivalent to mass and the density of the government is static, the volume of the government must increase.

JFK actually committed suicide. They made it look like an assassination so he could be buried in consecrated ground and not come back as a vampire.

The truthers conspiracy. That one's always been very bizarre to me. Of course, I was told that that is what is called, those who believe 9/11 was actually staged by the US gov't.

That the two longer lines at the beginning, middle and end of a barcode signifies the number of six, thus fulfilling the prophecy of the mark of the devil required to purchase goods. When, in an effort to stop fraud, credit card and insurance companies require us to have barcode chips inserted to our left hand..

My favorite theory of conspiracy is that which requires an agreement to perform an unlawful action with an overt act. Criminal liability for less seems harsh.

Favorite- the Lunar Landing Conspiracy

Most disturbing- the 9/11 Conspiracy

Personally, I believe that all conspiracy theories are conspiracy theories themselves. The only conspiracy theory I put any faith in is that Kurt Cobain didn't commit suicide, and that he was offed by either his wife, or the record company, or both.
The reason I say this is that after MJ died, a radio DJ (Rod Ryan if you're wondering) had an interview with a guy who predicted his death 6 months to the day before it happened. (I forgot his name, unfortunately, but he does have a biography of MJ published, so maybe that will help for a source) The guy also said he did some investigating into Kurt Cobain's death, and found that at the time of his death, he was so high on heroin, that he couldn't have been able to even pull the trigger, much less pick up the gun.

As for a motive, the MJ biographer said that it was probably a hired hit by either his wife, or the record company. If it was his wife, she would be getting the money from the sale of Nirvana records. If it was the record company, they could stand to make a lot more money off of a dead rock icon, than a living one (based on a similar effect to Elvis albums and MJ albums after their respective deaths.

My favorite actual conspiracy theory is the New Chronology of Russian mathematician Anatoly Fomenko, who believes we have the chronology of history all wrong. For example: Jesus was born about 1000 AD. The Roman Empire was the same as the Frankish Empire of Charlemagne. And so on. He believes that many historical events are actually just duplicates of the same event. This all goes back to Renaissance historians who fabricated the chronology we have now, and who created a massive conspiracy to conceal the truth of history. (I can't help asking, Why?) He "proves" all this by mathematical/statistical analysis. Chess Grandmaster Garry Kasparov, is, I believe, one of his supporters. I love this notion. It is so totally insane.

Chemtrails. I'm not sure who came up with it, and I don't see where they get off trying to put forward a theory that doesn't really seem to have even the most basic elements of a motive involved.

Either that, or Chavez's insane "HAARP was used by the US to cause the Haiti Earthquake!" tangent.

Nobody has ever explained the mechanism for acquiring those things, though.

I am from Canada | I'm some kind of Socialist | And also Batman
"Never be deceived that the rich will permit you to vote away their wealth." - Lucy Parsons
Socialism is an economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy. "Social ownership" may refer to cooperative enterprises, common ownership, state ownership, citizen ownership of equity, or any combination of these. There are many varieties of socialism and there is no single definition encapsulating all of them. They differ in the type of social ownership they advocate, the degree to which they rely on markets or planning, how management is to be organised within productive institutions, and the role of the state in constructing socialism.
