Yeah, the trick with that though is, if both of those guys are in it together, or one is bigger than the other and buys it out, also known as creating a monopoly, heh, it's that sort of thing that needs to be prevented.

No, it wouldn't go directly to your sisters house. It would go near it, and then you could walk. It can't be that hard, can it?

I am going to my sisters house with a bunch of presents for her birthday. You going to carry them? You going to sit in some packed train with all of them? Cars are very convenient.

Yeah, there's many other grocery stores too, but there's no question which one controls the market: Walmart.

Yes, but for people who, for whatever reason, do not drive, public transportation is very useful.

I'd say Norway has a good economy, they have good income equality - good welfare system. I personally like a mixed economy, with some socialist leanings. Basically centre-left.

Use bags and a backbag to carry them? And yes, cars are convenient, but they are costly too. And besides, i am fairly sure that the people who want a car already have one, and there plenty of more for the people who yet do not, so even if we halted the production of cars completely, the cars we already have wouldn't go anywhere.

A backpack? So you consider me some cheapskate? Imagine lots of bags.

Cars get old, and need replacing. If we halted the production of cars completely, used car prices would be far higher, causing problems for those that need a car, and are not as well of financially.

Even if Wal-Mart is a monopoly (for now lets assume it is regardless of the facts because I don't want to look shit up), so what? Monopolies aren't inherently bad.

There's 4 within an hour of me, but that's not the point. How many of those grocery stores rival Walmart in numbers, profit, and global coverage? My point is that Walmart is large enough that it can influence the price, and quality of the goods it sells. It is of a size that if it fell thousands of people would be unemployed. It's anti-competition, when a business gets to be that size, it needs to fear anti-trust suits, and occasionally have one brought against it and have itself broken up. When something gets to be that size, it is anti-Capitalist, anti-free trade, which is why one needs a properly run mixed economy to keep them from getting to be that size.

It sells cheap stuff that puts people outta work, that prevents other stores from competing with it on an equal footing, what I'm saying is that it has gotten to a size where it can't fail.

You want someone who is not invited to my sisters house, to travel by bus or train with a bunch of bags and then go home? What is your issue with cars? Cars continue to be produced because people continue to buy them. If you stop production, there will be problems within months.
