Escalated it. The response was far from defensive.

Sib - he ended it by destroying the Georgian Army and not attacking Tbilisi. If one army is destroyed, and the other is recalled a few weeks later, the war ends. I don't think that qualifies Putin for human rights, a prime minister is supposed defend his country, that's not something extraordinary, but he did end the war, unless you want to argue that Georgian Army wasn't in tatters, but just "relaxing south of Tbilisi, while secretely using the anarchy formation". And the Russians left undisputed Georgia in a matter of weeks, after they removed all of the cluster munitions, made a general sweep of the area, and took of the captured war booty.

To be honest, the one person who really deserves it is the Burmese girl. Having the guts to stand up against a regime like that, that's awesome. But the Nobel Peace Prize is a political joke, it'll likely go to Obama, or someone like that. China needs a sense of humor to understand that it's a joke.

Anyways, I hereby nominate, with enourmous sarcasm, Mikhail Saakashvili:

For exposing that democratically appointed emperors are completely inept, attacking the Russian Army (Peacekeeper Battalion), thus enabling Russia to respond, as well as exposing most of war-starved manicas in the Caucasian Region, thus enabling the Russians to finally pacify it so well, that no one is planning a major act, and the most that these maniacs can do, is an attack on a police station or a school, well away from the actual army base, under the proud banner of "destroying education in the name of freedom".
