Hey, I'm Pottslande. In my last quarter of high school, getting a double AA in theater and biology at my local community college. The name of my nation actually comes from a presentation my history teacher did (his last name is Potts, and he made up a kingdom called Pottsland where everything's simple until America accuses Pottsland of having WMDs and Dick Cheney invades with his shotgun. Also, he's socialist, so Pottslande is a socialist society.) I enjoy writing, and have had some plays produced at my college. I also enjoy playing the games from the Creatures series, which I've seen discussed on this forum. Other than that, it's occasionally programming, reading webcomics (xkcd, Mint Condition, Daisy Owl, Dinosaur Comics, everything from Mezzacotta) watching shows such as House, Big Bang Theory (it has its moments) 30 Rock and Numb3rs (which I worship whenever I can catch it). I hope to either get into UCLA or NYU.

I am the nation of Tthunka, and probably the most important thing to know about me is that I am currently a student of Linguistics and I am VERY fascinated by languages and, well, Linguistics. I basicly spend my days on language blogs, on wikipedia pages about language, on language related websites, etc, etc.

As an aspiring Linguist however, I also feel I have a kind of mission. See a Linguist is first and foremost a scientist, and IS NOT SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO SAY HELLO IN 50 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. (as you can tell I only got up to six, and two of them are basicly the same language!)

And so my mission as a Linguist is to introduce a scientific aspect to language discussions throughout the forums of this website. Every human being has many ideas on language that simply aren't true. Comments like "German is a guttural language" or "Southerners have an accent because they are stupid" do not stand up to the light of scientific research.

And so other then this post I will likely be mostly hanging out in the "general" section in the language-related threads. Also if anyone has language-related questions feel free to Telegram me, for I will likely know the answer/know where to find out. However, don't expect a speedy response (and that goes for thread posts too).

For those who really want to know, the "hello" words are from, in order: Albanian, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Spanish, Latin, and Engrish.

With religion, i'm baptized Catholic, but i'm not part of any church, I try to read Religious Scripture daily, but i'm human and regularly forget, i'm a fan of soccer especially the Fifa tourney.

Amazingly Anime has actually shaped a good portion of my currently young life with its internal morals, such as deciding on an action and then doing it if you want to get anywhere in this world of ours, that no one is born evil, there created evil, that every person no matter what skin color they are or where they are from, we're all human and we all bleed the same color of blood, and that the average person is only around for a few winks of our planets eyes so lets try and make the better of it for everyone.
