Meh. I assume my inherent belief in the materialism of Christmans gifts and the corruption of the holiday are inspired by the fact that well, thats generally whats plastered all over the telly.

I had an idea a few months ago for something called 'Consumption Day' that would take all the hyper-consumerist crap out of the religious holiday formerly known as Christmas and drop it on some other day of the year. It should be implemented sometime, it would be nice to see a restored Christmas. Nothing against capitalism, but it's annoying that companies kind of took it over.

I'm Allison. I'm 25 years old and work as a cancer research nurse for phase I (first-in-man) clinical trials. Before switching to nursing, I was an East Asian studies major for three years; my foci were Japanese language and North Korean history. I love foreign language, history and travel. I have an absurd wanderlust that is squelched by my need to have, you know, a living. I plan extravagant trips in my head. I live in Nashville currently, but I have lived in Vermont, Ohio, California, Germany and Ghana. I have traveled all over Europe as well as a couple of countries in West Africa. My preferred method of transportation is train, and I'm not picky as to whether it's a freight train or a passenger train.

One of my big passions is protesting Scientology as I find them to be a very dangerous criminal cult; I've been protesting them every month since February 2008. They know who I am and have threatened me and my family. I met my boyfriend, our roommate and most of my local friends at Scientology protests. The three of us have two dogs (Bellamy and Zoë) and a snake (Monty), and we live in a frighteningly hipster part of Nashville. Frighteningly.

I am Mahayana Buddhist and a Libertarian.

Good day, all. I'm Novistranaya. I'm 25, a conservative Christian (and therefore probably not the most popular member of this game!) I've been around for a few years on and off (I've had to restore my nation a few times, cursed college getting in the way of my gameplay!) I'm currently Mastering in Church Music, enjoy fishing, would probably enjoy hunting if I had a gun, ad nauseum, ad nauseum.

Oh, and by the way, to all the new people, we have a thing for debate here, and some members have this strange fetish for sources in said debates.

I could get down with this idea. Daps to Nadkor.

Aaaanyway, I'm Sarkhaan, Sark, Sarky, Snarky, Cutty Sark...um...I think that's all I've been called around here. I'm 24, native New Englander (raised in CT, lived in Boston for the last 8 years or so), and just relocated to San Francisco. I live for hockey. I detest sports fans from New York, Montreal, and LA. I am a certified high school English teacher in Massachusetts, having graduated in the field from BU, and working on it in Cali. This makes me currently unemployed. I've also worked as a lifeguard and bartender/server. I like telling stories, and am usually less pissed off than I have been coming across around here. I come here so I don't have to take my urge to argue and debate politics out on my friends. Oddly, I've become friends with some people here. Go figure.

Hi, I'm TNB. Some of you will know me better by another name, and that's cool, too. (Saying that makes me feel like Aslan at the end of The Last Battle, but I'm not Jesus, I promise. I am, however, apparently a ginormous dork who makes geeky references to allegorical kidlit for no good reason. My ginormous dorkiness will come as a surprise to no one who has interacted with me to any significant degree.)

Anyway, I'm TNB. I'm a female in her late twenties, born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, although I've also lived in Massachusetts and New Jersey and hope to move back to the former sometime fairly soon. I've been around this forum for something like five years now, and it's had a surprisingly major role in my life. I'm a semi-pro classical musician (which is to say, I've occasionally gotten paid extremely small amounts of money, which technically makes me "professional" but definitely does not make me "able to afford food"). I consider myself a "Renaissance woman" both in the sense that I specialize in Renaissance music and in the sense that I love learning about virtually anything, and therefore have rather diverse interests and areas of expertise. I enjoy pina coladas and long walks on the beach - or at least I think I'd probably enjoy long walks on the beach, but as previously mentioned, I'm in freaking Missouri. I'd have to drive for three days just to get to a beach in the first place. As best I can recall, I've only ever had three NSGers declare their undying love for me, so you all should get on that. ;)

My favorite books are: [All books from Bernard Cornwell and Terry Pratchett] plus some of Tom Clancy's books.

I am generally centrist on the economy, but Extreme-libertarian on social issues.

I have recently become more religious due to the fact my life is failing, making me angry and irritable.

I'm generally a nice guy, and probably won't show up around here so much, since I'm rather involved on another Forum. Also, I'm not very verbose, and generally characterized by the people I meet as the sane guy or the person who'se seen it all. Seriously, nothing really surprises me anymore.

I'm NERVUN, originally from Northern Nevada, currently living smack in the middle of Japan where I attempt to get junior high school kids to listen to me while I teach them English. Failing that, I come over here where I attempt to get NSers to listen to me while moderating. Both jobs are rather alike. :p

I've got a range of eclectic interests and normally am fairly laid back except in threads about education, immigration, or Japan. You have been warned. :D

I'm Fartsniffage. I'm left handed and have size 9 feet.

I live in Manchester and work as an under-dogsbody in a large office. This has it's advantages as my work is pretty eclectic, last week I was organising a business continuity exercise and this week I've been sorting out all the AV stuff and the presentations for an awards ceremony. This fits me well as I have the attention span of a goldfish.

My interests are politics, which I actually have a degree in contrary to the impression I give in politics threads, computers, reading fiction, karate, kayaking and skiing. I also like to learn new things but only at a surface level, I'm sure that learning lots of new things pushes old things out of my brain, I once learned everything there was to know about Remy Martin Cognac at the pub but it made me forget how to walk. :(

Saint Clair Island, usually known as "that generic poster over there, no, that one", although I suspect a few people might recognise my name. Been here forever, but switch nations whenever I get bored with one. At various points in the past I've argued in NSG, roleplayed in NS and II, partaken in sports tournaments, defended regions, served as UN Delegate of my own region and Screw You Guys, I'm Making My Own Forum, With Blackjack, And Hookers. Nowadays I don't do anything much.

In real life I am in my third decade, reside within the boundaries of the Greater New York Metropolitan Area and have worked at a variety of jobs only united by the fact that none of them pay nearly enough. My main interests lie in areas such as acoustics and audio engineering, theoretical physics, and destroying the world. Like TNB I am a semi-professional musician, while unlike TNB I have delusions of grandeur on that front (also known as the Just You Wait, When My Band Takes Off fallacy).

I'm Gravlen, and I'm still miffed about losing my postcount of about 16,000 from Jolt >:(

I've been on NSG for over five years, and had a lot of fun here. It was both useful and fun while I was at university, and I've met several good people through here. NSG really has changed my life completely, considering that it led me into a relationship with a fantastic generalite, and that I've travelled quite a bit to meet others. (As recently as this summer I attended the wedding of a generalite, and met several people whom I'd only talked to via post or IM before.)

I'm not around as much as I used to because I have to work for a living, and that takes up most of my time. My spamming happens on a different forum with other (former) NSG'ers.

So yeah. Trust me, I'm a professional ;)

Hey, I'm Johz. I'm 16, from Birmingham, in England, and I am a Christian. I enjoy whinging and complaining, which is why I have a blog, I enjoy shouting about religion and (British) politics, which is why I'm on here, and I enjoy setting myself challenges, which is why I've decided to re-build Warzone Europe. I am rather liberal, indeed I tend to socialism, and I hold the view that cups of tea should be available after everything. I love science, especially physics, and I strongly dislike it when people come up with stupid ideas. I love comedy, and I hope you'll get a chance to see some more of Hammurab's amazing threads. I've been here, in F7, and around a couple of times in the WA, racking up almost a year's worth of time here. Currently, my passions are for the joyful exuberance of F7, and the angry, depressive grumblings of the cutey-pies that inhabit NSG. I want you to vote yes to both WA resolutions currently at vote, and I love you, but only because I have to.
