Why is it shaped for you?

You're still missing the most important question. CM has worked it out be is arguing against it because he's a misanthrope, you're just so blinded by the word "communism" that you can't even see it.

I'm not blinded by communism. I've explored the possibilty, even suggested it. But when I look at it from an economic and moralistic perspective, it is horrific.

Okay, go back and read all my posts in this thread and start again.

I'm a misanthrope? Hardly. I don't hate humanity, I simply like what most consider to be the worst bits of humanity as well as the rest. I actually quite like mankind, but as a whole, not as little parts.

Dopamine is released by the reward centers of the brain. A world such as you described would have the brain constantly, in effect, rewarding itself, and it is possible (If difficult in our less-than-perfect world) to build a tolerance to it.

After the failure of capatilism no one will really notice, either because they're busy hunting rats, or because we're living in a post-scarcity utopia where robots pleasure us at every oppertunity because they are programmed to enjoy doing so.

It's a drug that is often used as an anesthetic, but it knulls the thought process and mildly turns people into obediant zombies. Make it required in your world, and, voila!, it would work, if not for the side effects of dopemine.

Reduced effects of dopamine lead to a reduction of motivation. Not happiness, but motivation. Experiments on lab rats have shown that, well, one, researchers don't like lab rats, and that severe reduction in dopamine levels (IE as would happen when one builds a tolerance), the rats will lose the actual motivation to do anything, up to and including eating with their own motor functions.

Really? So I am allowed to rape, murder and steal? How nice! I think I'll just a hold a gun to your head, take all your valuables, and your wife while I'm at it(NOT ACTUALLY GOING TO DO THIS!). In you're world, I would be allowed to.
