If they offer a better standard of education than the other schools in the area I wouldn't have a problem

I kinda like the school uniform idea too. In Ontario you don't have to be Catholic to go to a Catholic School Board school and you can opt out of reglion class so it becomes a public school with a uniform for those students really.

I would never force my child to go to any Catholic school. If he wanted to go to Catholic school, fine. Besides that, he's going to public schools.

I don't think there are any schools, private or public, in my area that don't have a uniform so that wouldn't be an issue :)

I wouldn't force them into a religious school. I would consider forcing them in a military school and brainwash him that way, if Canada had such things :p

Hell no. Hasn't religion done enough brainwashing? I would not want my hypothetical child to be another victim.

"Brainwashing?" Is that what non-religious folks have taken to calling people of faith? Come on.

If responsible, normal, religious individuals want to send their child to a school that happens to teach their religious view point in a responsible, non-radicalized, otherwise normal school environment, then yes.

What's the problem? They're not harming you in any way.

If my child desires to go to one and I can pay for it, why not? I wouldn't force my child to go to one, however.

Quite, but then again when I look at our Cadet system...I can only imagine a school like that to be a disaster!

As much as I hate and utterly DESPISE religion...

If my child wanted to go I would let them...I'd bitch and nag unaringly but I'd let them...

AND as much as I hate to admit...

My sister went to a year of Church School at our Old Baptists Church and she did well. She wasn't brainwashed, more importantly she came out ok. But then again it was only a year...

My sister's still one of the coolest, most tolerant people I know...sure she's manically EBIL but that's not Jesus's fault....damn Zombie Jesus...failed me again...

I think alll schools should be under strict gov. control so no radicals could teach people should give their children knowledge of beliefs at HOME

I dont like religious schools, I dont want my kids indoctrinated by anyone but me, ;)

Plus, many religious tenants go square against proven fact, and I dont want them running into problems with that...

Next you'll be saying not to teach the Holocaust in school, because Nazis might be offended.

no i think that a totalitarian society would flourish in the world we live in if everything was run by one then everyone would be the same and there would be no conflict

I'm just too cheap. My kids would go to public school. Other than that, I wouldn't mind sending them to Catholic school.

Where to even start with a declaration like that.

I suggest you see: Korea, North; Germany, Nazi; Union, Soviet (1922-1953) to see some inherent flaws in totalitarian societies.

Why don't you people get it?! There will always be conflicts, whether that's a school fight or a full-blown war with another nation. It's human nature people!

"Sameness" does NOT WORK, and further, is nearly (if not) impossible.
