man i don't know what to tell ya, all i know is, it's probably dirty, perverted or shameful because different it's all about what the women want, and it just depends on many things of the woman ya know, like if it's her time of the month, if she's just not in the mood, or if she's just pissed off cause some other girl lookin at her or you and she totally caught it, and let's not forget my favorite turn off from a chick, you know, the one where she'll make you feel like dog crap on the bottom of some guy's shoe and he keeps on walking in mud just by saying " it's not you, it's me" or even worse! "you got a tiny winkie" or whatever she'll call it, because all in all, at the end of the day, women are always the real the shot-callers in the bedroom! idk why, but they will always hold the fact that they have the power to give birth to a child over our heads, but in my case, i don't wanna have, well give birth to a child, because that @!%* looks like it hurts more than the superman punching me in the balls.

When you celebrate the human body by showing images of sex in the media, people get riled up.
But it's perfectly okay if we show images of celebrating the human body being blown to pieces, being torn apart, or exploding.

Yeah, I don't understand it either.
It is my firm belief that it is a mistake to have firm beliefs.

A wise man once said, "I'd rather show my child a picture of two people making love than two people trying to kill each other."

If one believes the picture of two people making love is more scarring than that of two people killing each other, one must truly be deluded. And possibly very sexually insecure.

So why are movies with graphic violence rated R (or even PG-13), and movies with graphic sex are rated NC-17?

Yeah, what got me was the most recent Die Hard movie. Bruce Willis murders at least half a dozen people during the course of the film, and that's not counting collateral damage from the various explosions and random gun fire. But because they made sure that he didn't say his trademark "motherfucker" line, the film got a PG-13 rating rather than an R.

Cause showing people getting murdered is a lot less damaging to young kids than hearing curse words.

The MPAA does movies.

Yeah, that one makes even less sense. At least sex carries some actual risks that can be measured and tested. What the hell does "cursing" do in any way, shape, or form? Does a person get laid off from work every time a 5 year old hears the word "fuck" or something?

Bogus, and here's why:
Researchers have found many benefits for children and youth who are raised by parents in healthy marriages, compared to unhealthy marriages, including the following statistics:

This only refers to healthy marriages. No source or statistics for how prevalent these are compared to unhealthy marriages or how damaging an unhealthy marriage is compared to unmarried or single parents.
Seek wisdom and understanding from God

Calling this a benefit is quite a stretch. Including this indicates a pretty skewed view of reality, aka bias.
Less likely to be raised in poverty

The correlation is all fucked up. For all we know, unimpoverished families have healthier marriages, so all these statistics don't actually indicate that all the benefits that have been accrued are because of a healthy marriage, but potentially that healthy marriages and all benefits result from not living in poverty.

Doesn't, in fact, address being born outside of wedlock. All it shows is that a child growing up in a two-parent household is more likely to succeed. It also makes the point that poverty is the biggest thing threatening a healthy upbringing.
http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2010/05/marriage.html (unfortunately I couldn't get the actual pdf document to open)

Funny, this one doesn't prove your point:
• Among children who start in the bottom third of the income distribution, only 26 percent with divorced parents move up to the middle or top third as adults, compared to 42 percent of children born to unmarried mothers and 50 percent of children with continuously married parents.

That a divorce is traumatic shouldn't be a surprise, but apparently being born out of wedlock is not substantially worse than being born to married parents. And again, the main focus of the study is poverty, and it seems that divorce and an unhealthy marriage are the decisive factors in a child not exceeding their parents' incomes later on in life.

Not even the groundwork for your argument that promiscuity is bad is stable.

Funny you should mention that. For my parents' 30-somethingth anniversary, my dad gave my mom this totally tricked out universal remote so she wouldn't have to be annoyed as hell with all the complicated gadgets he had hooked into their TV. She said it was so romantic she teared up. :P

Huh, you know, I never realized the potential there. I mean, the whole diamond engagement ring deal is almost entirely due to the efforts of the diamond industry, and they've shaped an entire tradition to the point where most people probably think that men were giving women diamond rings back during the days of Jesus or something.

So all I really need is to convince the gaming console manufacturers to run with this idea in their marketing.

Now I'm envisioning those diamond adds with the shadow people, only the shadow-woman is holding a Wii-mote.

Thank you for being willing to take those point-by-point. It needed to be done.

I'm more than willing to admit that being born into a family with two happily married parents can be great for a kid. It sure was great for me. But my partner was born into a family with two unhappily married parents, and he carries scars of it to this day. He and his sisters often remark that they wish their parents would have gotten a divorce years ago, and they're hoping that their parents will finally split as soon as the youngest is done with college and officially out of the house.
