This election as been no different than what I have seen in most North American countries. The american people are unable to elect a common voice. I Know that some would say that why is the need for a common voice? well, I will tell you. When you elect a common voice it is easer to determine what the people really want, but when you have some saying yes and some saying no it is going to be extremly hard for the electorate to deliever on the needs of all.

To night I think has also prove that when politcians all ignore the will of the people, the pay deaely. I have observe many result and saw that it has play a sigificant role in the choices of the people.

lol CNN is so biased. When ever they are fixing to announce a Democrat victory, they have this patriotic music playing, but when they are announcing a Republican victory, they don't. It's just so hilarious to watch.

I didn't know we are electing voices. That would explain my confusion at the ballot this afternoon.

There is one good aspect of the election.

I think we will no longer have to listen to the excuse of not having a "super majority" any more.....

Democrats have 51 in the Senate preventing a tie scenario.

What would you suggest then? We have 330 million people here, it is unlikely that there will be a "common voice." And I would suggest to you that tonight's results are also the result of some politicians playing on the fears and disappointments of people struggling in an economy still not recovered from a recession. People are losing jobs and houses and the new president didn't make everything better after a week in office. When people are scared like that they will lash out against those they are told are responsible, whether that is true or not.

Yeah but that would mean the GOP could force the VP to stay in Washington pretty much whenever the senate was in session.

Fox called it too. However, watch Angle, when she lost the primary for Nevada State senate and the House seat, she went Librarian Poo and threatened all kinds of legal suits.

I can't see her behaving any different.

Can't send him to campaign or fund raise, can't send him overseas as a proxy for the president in diplomatic situations. Actual running of government yes the VP has a limited number of functions, the other unofficial stuff is however very important as well.
After all its not like the only thing the President does is sit in the white house issuing executive orders and vetoing bills.
