I'm not a fan the attitude that says men and women are the same. Men and women are different. They're equal, yes, but different. It's easy to say that sex doesn't count, but in reality it does. There are biological and social differences that can't be ignored.

I don't feel all that superior, I just have no understanding of the drive to join the armed forces.

And I say this with friends in the Royal Navy and Army; I love them to bits, but I can't comprehend their desire to serve. I know the arguments, but I have no empathy with them. Moreover, I have an admiration for the sheer courage it takes to do the many things that folks in the armed services do.

Yet I simply don't think it is the right thing. Hicks may well put in rather a brute fashion, but I agree with the sentiment.

Look at it as if I were to dress up like a woman and hang out in the girls locker room - none of the girls ever noticing. They would be fine to go on never knowing, until one day someone tells them that I was really a dude in drag - then they would feel violated.
