The American flag wasn't designed in the 21st or 20th Century. Therefore, it was a different time when it was created and it was meant to be symbolic. Having the stats and stripes on it is not to help retarded assholes remember the number of states and colonies, its to remember the tradition and history of the United States.

I agree that the US school system is a piece of crap, the US flag is also a piece of crap, it is not original,(British East India Company Flag), and is too crowded, i feel sorry for all those american flag makers.

Like your flag is any better. It actually has symbolism into it. Quite frankly, it was pretty revolutionary for its time. I don't recall any other nation prior to 1776 that had stars in their flags which symbolized each of the colonies.

My flag is a flag for a game, not a real nation's flag. i thought the stripes represent the original 13 colonies, stars representing states, anyways i still stand with what is said before and using stars to represnt states is Ok when you have a max 20 but 50 is just too much

If you're referring to the Australian Aboriginal Flag, it was proclaimed a national flag under the 1995 Flags Act, along with the Torres Strait Islander flag. So it most certainly would qualify. I personally am more of a fan of the TSI flag, I just think it's prettier. Not a great reason I know.

Best : Union flag: Instantly recognisable (It isn't called the Union Jack unless flown at sea by the Royal Navy on a flagpole)
Star and stripes: Good, but is a bit complicated
French flag
USSR flag
Nepalese flag: They saw traditional rectangle flags and stuck up their index and middle fingers to them and went with a cool triangular based flag

Neither: The Vietnam flag seems like a generic communist flag.

Worst: Irish flag.
German flag
French flag
Canadian flag

I have to say that the American flag is one of the best flags around, because it is recognizable (sometimes for the worse) and the worst I think is the Bosnian flag. Now, i like the symbolism, but a gold triangle and a blue triangle with stars between them just doesn't catch my eye.
