The Matrix Trilogy (especially 3), The Star Wars series (especially III), Hellboy II, and the X-men Trilogy (especially 3, again  ), PoTC II, and...one more, I'll remember it soon...

That's serious movies though

Star Wars Episide III? The Matrix Revolution? X-men III? PotC II?

This is 'best movie ever', not 'worst movie in a trilogy'.

All though I guess you get some credit for not saying Clone Wars. You just like shiney CGI and big 'splodies in your movies, dontcha?

Dr. Strangelove
Airplane!
Airplane 2
Duck Soup/anything by the Marx Brothers

Dunno if the last three count as "good," but they're fun as anything to watch.

More like at least some of that combined with some psychodrama and/or good theme and I'm good.

The best movie would have to be the one I have spent real money to see more than once.

So:

The Sting

Girl Interrupted

The Never Ending Story

It

Legend

Midway

Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Nausicaa
"Life is difficult".

For a long time I would have said Donnie Darko to this but these days it has competition from quite a few other things. I'd still say Donnie Darko has the best film soundtrack of all time however.

I actually thought the 2nd movie was crap.

Liked the original, though.

Agreed. 28 Weeks Later was an abysmal and horrifying cash in on the breath of fresh air that was 28 Days Later. I also hate Robbie Carlisle for giving it much needed legitimacy in the UK after it turned out we'd became a colony of the United States in the aftermath of the first film. Though who knows? Perhaps that was a really, really subtle dig at the apparent relationship between our two leaders and our two fabulous nations at the time -_-

The Godfather Trilogy has got to be one of the best films in history. Long I know, but pure quality cinema. Possibly the first time the unedited version won over the production company directors, rather than a shorter 2 hour version.

Also, I forgot to add Akira, pretty much any Miazayki movie, and Requiem for a Dream. Even if it is so god damn terrifying.

I haven't written and produced my action comedy scripts so the best movies in the world aren;t out yet.
