No. I said I wasn't an absolute social or politcal fascist. I never said I didn't have fascist leanings in those field. Most of that is based on my observation that the masses are fools, and shouldn't be incharge of choosing who runs the country.

No the reason he started doing that race nonsense is because Adolf demanded it and since Mussolini figured the West wouldn't accept his nation any longer he would be in league with Adolf. Of course you ignore the fact that the race law was passed in 1938 and the Fascists had been in power since 1922. The whole Pact of Steel was believed to be maneuvering by Mussolini to keep Hitler in check. As Churchill makes reference to it backfired and even the experienced Il Duce underestimated Hitler just as everyone else had. Mussolini's persecution of Jews was half-hearted nor did it ever really catch on in Italy. He should have never made the mistake but that is hindsight. Meh. Fascism always impressed me as the ideology for people who are afraid of their own freedom. But given the horrors that fascism unleashed in the 20th century, and the unmitigated disaster it proved for all involved, I don't think you're going be anything but lonely.
