I think that the Stephen King movies were generally low budget. The Shining was decent though if memory serves.
it depends on which version of "The Shining you are referring to. The first movie (1980) was crap, but the TV Mini-Series (1997) was pretty good.
The Stand was also done quite well.
"Carrie" wasn't bad, and "the Langoliers" was tolerable (crappy special effects, though). the rest, not really impressed with their adaptations.
"It" wasn't bad either, I guess.
