You are the one with no conscience. You want to deny visas to good, hard working people. I want to give them visas and a legal way to work here. That goes to all workers, be it uneducated migrant workers from Latin America, or highly educated workers from India.

You're the one with no conscience. You place cheap labor over the well-being and stability of your nation.

So now we can drive down wages and encourage even MORE Third World peasants to come here?

It does not drive wages down. It reduces illegal immigration. It happened in the 50s. Illegal immigration slowed to a trickle. Although the program had many flaws, there is a model to work from. It works, it has worked in the past.
I support letting all the needed workers in. Be it an uneducated farm worker, or a highly skilled computer programmer.

And I guess Operation Wetback and the lack of the established laziness on the part of the federal government that exists today had nothing to do with the low illegal immigration of the 50s? We had even STRICTER quotas then.

Operation Wetback was after the program I was referring to. During the program, there was little illegal immigration.
