That's such a lousy reason to have me blocked. A perfect analogy is if I walked into a police station, asked a police officer a question, got my answer, and came back the next day to ask a different question and I find a sign hung on the door that says, "Achaea-Graecia NOT ALLOWED!" I mean... what the hell? Moderators are supposed to be of assistance to people who don't yet know all the rules, but here comes Katganistan, and apparently the rules and responsibilities of being a moderator don't apply to her.

Wish I'd seen this when you first posted it. Long story short -- there are perfectly good venues for you to ask about rules, such as the moderation forum or the Getting Help Page, or heaven forbid, reading The One Stop Rules Shop. Hardly. I mean, some folklore vampires could turn into bears. Granted, watermelons could become vampires as well, but some vampires rested in coffins full of blood. And had barbed tongues.

If you were to read a book or watch a movie concerning vampires, what would you consider to be the quintessential vampire?

I would say my ideal vampire is a classy one a cold blooded killer. (no pun intended)
If it does have lines keep them well written or unique, but no one liners.
essentially quiet, efficient and...open minded.

Like Derek Landy. Although the vampires in his Skulduggery Pleasant series are very different to the original concept, they are pretty much how you've described the way they should be.
During the day, they have a sort of epidermal layer of skin that's very human-like in appearance, which allows them to walk happily in sunlight, and they can at least keep themselves under control, however just about anything that can kill a person would kill them.
At night, on the other hand, the true vampire reveals itself. It violently removes the outer skin (kinda like the werewolf from Van Helsing) and it becomes a true beast, walking on all fours, having pasty white skin, and almost totally black eyes. They viciously kill any living thing near them.
When making new vampires, it's not dainty twin pin pricks like Dracula's. The neck is pretty much torn open, with blood going everywhere, and they slowly turn over the course of a few days.

Is that cool or what?

I've read the first three books, and they are perfect in regard to the Vampire Mythos. (And pretty much everything else).
