In New York, while I'd have to spend a hunk of money on assorted fees and such, not to mention grease a few dozen palms (and other assorted bodily areas), I'd be able to own a License to Carry a Concealed Firearm. SO the next time I'm having a little stroll around the Wall Street district and some Obama supporter wants me to share the wealth, I can point my Smith & Wesson at him/her and tell them be gone.

London not only is in a country where defending themselves from burglars is unlawful, the price of living is much worse than New York City. Don't even ask about pistol licenses; handguns are illegal. Hence so many crimes are committed with pistols.

We have a Conceal and Carry law? I thought only Texas and like 2 other states allowed it.

Like I said, I would have to spend a lot of money to get such a permit. Only a few on Official Rules & Regulations.

London, but only just, it's seriously spoiled by the huge, horrible, grim never ending run down suburbs that surround the city on the outskirts.

Oddly enough, Texas was one of the later states to allow CCW. Wisconsin and Illinois are the only two states that don't allow CCW, and most states are "Shall Issue," which means that unless you're a psycho or something, they will pretty much automatically give you a CCW permit. Hawaii legally allows CCWs, but their government refuses to issue CCWs anyways.

Also, in Vermont, Alaska, and Arizona, you don't even have to apply for a license.

Note the plural in my original post. I never claimed there to be an American accent. But rather a plurality of American accents, most of which I find very irritating. Given the area, I'd guess I'd be talking about the Italian and Irish influenced New York accents, African American accents, and the New England accent (which is by far the most irritating).

lol, one thing during one season. You have two types of weather, cloudy, and rainy. The British Climate is the most depressing climate in the world. New York is situated in the perfect climate, we can go sking in the winter and go sun bathing in the summer without any effort.

Oh, and in my 16 years living in the New York Metropolitan area, we have never gotten over 4 feet of snow. In fact, the city rarely gets over a couple of inches.
