London or New York?

Postby Mu and Leng » Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:15 am

Which is better, London or New York? Both are considered command centers of the global economy, and have a mega-rivalry amongst themselves.

Rank which city is better by whatever criteria you want: economy, livability, etc.

Having visited both cities, London is better. It's got all the same amenities as New York, but feels more livable. Just don't drink the water.

I think there will be much Bias on this subject between Americans and British. Being British myself, and seeing as I've never been to New York, I shall abstain an opinion as I cannot make one of New York.

London FTW!
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has the city of the world banking system, a main player in world affairs, a special relationship with the Commonwealth and the United States, a people of many faiths and cultures. A nation that has its law and justice, defence, education, healthcare! This is the United Kingdom we all know!

New York, because I will buy you a beer if you come here.

Voted London as I study in central London, so yeah :p

I don't really know, I never visited NY, but given my absolute disdain for the whole modernist sky-scraper nonsense, and dislike of American accents, I still think I'd prefer it. Oh and let's not forget grid city planning... ugh.

London: where there is no such thing as a straight road, and behind every other threatening-looking passage entrance from a main street lies a 400 years old pub. How does NY even compare?

I've been to both, and it's very hard to compare them...they're so different. Both are beautiful. I'd probably say that I prefer London, it seems a little more unique than New York!? And what's this about Brits having bad teeth? Haha

That's insulting...unless it's Canadian?
