It feels good. I've tried almost everything. In my late teens my body was like a test lab. Only one test was unsuccessful. Shrooms.

I haven't done much for 10 years now. Like I said, late teens. And almost everything.

Meh, I don't like the idea of barfing up a lung everytime I try to run. As for alcohol, I grew up Muslim so it's just a case of you don't miss what you never had, though I'm glad I missed it. The idea of waking up to find a video of myself unconscious in a pool of vomit plastered all over YouTube isn't exactly appealing.

I like to smoke Lucky Strikes myself. I genuinely enjoy the taste and smell of tobacco.

And, of course, the simple truth is that like alcohol, in moderation tobacco really isn't going to do a whole lot unless you're already spectacularly predisposed to developing the health problems attributed to it. Now, if you're smoking three packs a day, you're a lot more likely to develop health problems just like if you drank three six packs of beer a day or ate three Big Macs a day, or anything else.

I smoke cigarettes, though less than I used to. I hate when people tell me how nasty it is, though.... because I already fucking know.

Why do you do it than?

Chemical dependencies tend to do that to people.

Only people who lack self control/lack intelligence.

As others have said, 'weak will' has nothing to do with it. For example, look at caffeine. After about a month of consistent consumption of caffiene (Say, one or two coffees a day), the stimulant effect caffeine has on a normal brain diminishes. Instead, the brain begins to use the caffeine as a 'crutch', allowing it to produce less of the hormones that wake us up in the morning, because, as far as the brain can tell, the normal amount is no longer necessary. The same goes for nicotine, which is also a stimulant (Though it does affect different areas of the brain) and tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. (Though in that case it functions as a dopamine-based reaction, not a stimulant) To many of those addicted, going without their chemical of choice can feel much like starving oneself; rapid mood swings, severe depression, increased or decreased appetite, weight loss or gain, even, through going 'cold turkey', deprivation can make people physically ill, as the brain's chemistry has been thrown out of whack. It takes an extraordinarily resilient person in order to face these challenges without aid, which, unfortunately, very few of us are. It's a simple fact of life.

Yes.

Unless of course it's not OK for a woman to ask for a female to ask for a female officer to carry out body checks. In which case, the answer would be no.

Do you smoke?
-Yes

If so, what?
-Cigars. I smoked most of a pack of cigarettes about 20 years ago, and none since. I like the taste, smell, and copious amounts of smoke that come with smoking cigars. In fact, I think I'll go smoke one wnen I'm finished answering this.

How often do you smoke?
- Often, but irregularly. I smoke full sized cigars every now and then. I smoke minis (Macanudo Ascots and Partagas Puritos) freqently while driving or hanging out with friends. I'd say I average about one per day. I'll smoke 3 or 4 in one sitting, but then not smoke again for a few days.

How did you start
- My first cigars were a gift from my HS girlfriend's uncle. It was about 5 years later that I bought my own for the first time. Over the next 15 years (to now), I've had gaps of years when I didn't smoke at all.

Are you addicted?
- No. Any time I think I'm smoking too much, I just quit for a couple of months or so. It might be easier with cigars since you don't inhale cigar smoke and they take longer to smoke.

I drink plenty of coffee and I've never had a problem going without it. The health benefits make it quite worthwhile.

Also, smoking higher-quality cigarettes is not comparable to the cheaper ones. Although they don't want to admit it, any smoker can tell you the difference between a natural tobacco cigarette and one filled with additives designed to cut costs and boost nicotine uptake. This is why my usual brand is American Spirit non-filters, with Luckies thrown in for good measure...I literally can't smoke a cigarette with a filter and never will, even if I'm completely out of mine.

This is a big reason why I'm more than happy to support anti-smoking efforts to ban additives in tobacco. As long as they don't touch the product itself, I'd like to see us return to the authentic cigarettes of times past.

I love to smoke! :D

Pipes, cigars, cigarettes, you name it!

Cigarettes I enjoy Benson and Hedges, great taste IMO. Marlboro reds are pretty good, but can sometimes can come off strong.

Cigars depends: Cohibas are expensive as hell, but if done properly a fine and enjoyable smoke. I have yet to have a Cuban :( At least a REAL one. Also cigars that just sit in a rack for months on end won't come out great. The smoke is dry and nearly painful. Cigarillos aren't bad either.

Pipes are perfect, just don't buy your tobacco at a drug store. I mean really. Prince Albert is chicken feed compared to some of the stuff you can get at a smoke shop or at Cigar International (Google for the actual site), like Sweet English -that stuff will just spoil you for everything else. One pipe per blend of tobacco, unless you do a deep cleaning of that pipe. Otherwise your mixing the taste and it won't be nearly as enjoyable. Also understand a pipe takes a bit to smoke, anywhere from 30 mins. to 2 hrs depending on how well you packed it and how fast you smoke.

Overall I would steer away from manufactured tobacco products. Machine produced cigars=shit, as does tobacco that sits in a plastic bag or tin case for months rather than a glass jar/jug. Cigarettes are a different story, rolling your own allows you more freedom and the taste is considerably better. But like most people, you don't have the time, so I'd just stick with a decent brand (like I said, Benson and Hedges are aces).

If you do smoke, I'd invest in some mouth wash and teeth whitening products. I do so religiously to keep my teeth white and pristine. Even if you stick the cigar/cigarette/pipe tip between your teeth, it will still cause your teeth to go yellow just at a slower pace than if it was sitting between your lips, against your teeth. Establish a routine, in the morning I floss, gargle teeth whitener, brush my teeth with a toothpaste for helping enhance the shine of your teeth, and than gargle again with mouth wash. Finally I put whitening strips over my teeth for the correct amount of time (varies per product). At night I do the same thing except without the strip. Do this daily to keep your teeth nice and white. The archetype that if you smoke your teeth are immediately, without exception, somehow yellow/orange, decaying, bad breathe is only true if you don't take care of them....like it would be even if you didn't smoke! So keep them white, carry around a spray (Listerine), some mints or gum.

Finally don't smoke in front or with a lady unless she's fine with it (even if she says she isn't, it isn't true). Regardless of what people say, women don't care if you smoke or not (a small percentage does, but their self righteous bitches, so fuck them), they care if your hygiene is horrible or if you just don't have one. Don't smoke than go on a date, don't smoke while on a date. Smoke on your own time, where you would have time for a shower and all that, before you see her. Keep your teeth white and clean, your breath smelling nice, and yourself not smelling of tobacco, and you'll be fine. If you find a chick who is attractive and is into smoking (as well as drinking, threesomes with other women and football), find a way to marry her.

Also I would dismiss the fear caused by getting lung, mouth, throat cancer. It certainly is possible and you have a heightened chance of it, but it doesn't mean it will happen automatically. My grandfather smoked every day of his life and died at the age of 88 from forgetting to take medication for his diabetes (caused by his drinking). There are cases where people have never smoked in their lives and get cancer. The air we breath on a daily basis is already crap; the chemicals in medication, foods, drinks; being too close to a computer, using a cellphone. If your gonna die, your gonna die. Smoking isn't good for you, but I seriously doubt there are other things which are much better that we use on a daily basis because we don't know the long term side effects.

Marlboro Red 100s. More cig for the same price. Paul Malls are good too.

No, I can't stand the smell, and I've always thought it makes people look rather dumb.

I'm from a family of smokers, that may well have contributed to my dislike for it.
"I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, and as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature’s wonders: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

I'm fairly sure that air in my town doesn't contain 19 known carcinogens, and the radiation from cell phones and computers has not been shown to be as dangerous as some folks would have you believe. Granted that it does take 20 years for the cancer to manifest, and some people do get cancer who never smoke, but why subject yourself to something you know can kill you? Hey, I smoked for a very long time and liked it a lot, too. Well, no matter. One of these days you'll pull up, out of breath, and think, "Shit, I gotta quit smoking." I just hope it's before a doctor gets that solemn look on his face and asks you to sit down in his office.

I very definitely don't smoke. I'm badly allergic to cigarette smoke; being around a smoker tends to make it very difficult for me to breathe.

I think choosing to start smoking is a profoundly stupid decision (I mean, really, the essential thought process is, "Oh, hey, how about I try this exceedingly addictive substance that is virtually guaranteed to make me seriously ill in the long run, all while making me smell awful, irritate lots of people around me, and waste a ton of money feeding my habit! Sounds like a GREAT plan!"), but plenty of smart people make stupid decisions. I don't dislike smokers provided they are courteous and reasonable. I'm even dating one. I do, however, find the sort of smoker who thinks it's funny to blow smoke in strangers' faces or to smoke in areas where it is clearly forbidden to be pretty much the scum of the earth.

I don't know what Gauloises cost these days, but I bet you can buy one, if not two drinks for the price of a pack. I admit, I used to indulge in them now and then, too. There are also Russian cigarettes with a hollow cardboard tube that you draw through. They're unfiltered, as well. I was told once that Comrade Stalin used to tear those open and fill his pipe with the tobacco.

I don't smoke. My mom was sick a lot from smoking. It killed her.

I'm not sure what they cost wherever you are, but they're only $8 here. That could get you two drinks at a bar where I grew up, but not in this city.

Either way, cigarettes look cooler than cocktails.

Do I smoke? Yes I do, and I still love it after almost four years.

I smoke cigarettes, usually a little under a pack a day. Though when I'm out drinking/partying or something it can easily be a pack over the course of the night plus whatever I smoked during the day before partying.
