LGBT extremists shamelessly cause a scene at a Target store.

I want to know if other LGBT people find their actions are justified, or ashamed a group of people that tries to represent them acted so immaturely. They are angry Target apparently donated 150,000 dollars to the campaign of somebody that doesn't support gay marriage, so their argument is you're hate-filled and discriminate if you don't support the special treatment of LGBT. They call target bigoted, but in the description, the videomaker writes "Call Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel at 612-696-6234 and DEMAND they get the $150,000 back or donate $150,000 to queer youth or transgender services!"
That sounds bigoted to me, them supporting the special treatment of LGBT.

I thought it was kind of funny, got this in an email from MoveOn.Org.

I don't think it is. It shows the hypocrisy. Do you remember the story about the kid at Walmart saying IIRC all black people must leave the store? That caused a shit storm and he was arrested, but when a "special group" does something like this, not much happens. They acted totally inappropriately and should have been arrested.

Sounds to me like good politics. Instead of targeting the political entities (which are either too biased to be swayed or too stupid to notice) they're targeting their opponent's funding. And Target opened themselves up for attack; a nice, big donation like this. As SCOTUS has repeatedly said, political donations are speech; and if you say something in the public arena, as Target has, prepared to be called on it.

There is a difference though. Asking all black people to leave a store is pretty offensive, especially if your black. Criticizing a corporation for political donations it has given to an anti-gay candidate also shows a fight against discrimination. As I said, I thought it was funny.

I'm all for Target donating money to candidates it wants too, but don't expect people to be happy!

I will say this though, if I remember correctly because I saw the video earlier and not too sure, but that chick needs to shave her arm pits. :?

It's called protesting. The only ones that have a problem with it are those that wished the LGBT would just go sit in a corner and try not to exist.

Ok, now it's time to play Spot the Difference, with your host with the most, Wilgrove!!

Why Thank you Rod Roddy! Welcome to Spot The Difference. Today we have Prank Vs. Protest, and our contestant is the lovely and irreplaceable Goth Chick! Welcome Goth Chick!

Thank you Wilgrove.

Ok, so here are the two scenarios, a kid gets onto an intercom at Wal-Mart and basically says "All Black People Must Leave."

Ok.

The Second Scenario is a group of people who are protesting Target's $150,000 donation to an anti-gay Republican candidate and thus decide to pass out coupons to shoppers and use a megaphone they brought in mimic the Intercom message, while informing shoppers how Target's contribution to said candidate. Goth Chick, SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!

I guess, the first one would have to be a racist prank that didn't really achieve anything except for a cheap laugh, while the second scenario shows a group of people who want to inform consumers about where their money is going and how the business they patronized is spending that money.

You win Goth Chick, and thank you for playing "Spot That Difference!"

They aren't allowed to use the loudspeaker, that's for employees, so they are violating the property rights of the store, breaking the law isn't justified for protesting for the advancement of homosexual culture. If I was the manager I would have simply called the police. She was too nice.

Harassing shoppers, handing out soliciting material, causing a disturbance, and filming people against their wishes: Why weren't these people arrested?

There is no law that says they may not use a loudspeaker.

Because it's not politically correct to arrest gay people for trying to promote their culture.

On a scale of 1 to 10?

It looks like a :meh: . Looked like they left when asked, although you could probably get them for... something.

How were they promoting their culture? All they were doing was protesting Target's donation to an anti-gay candidate.

The biggest thing I have with this is the hypocrisy. If they donated to a Democrat politician with a liberal agenda, there would not of been a peep, but since it is to a Republican candidate with a conservative agenda, they have caused a shitstorm.

I do not really agree that corporations should be able to donate to political campaigns, but this is so such a hypocrisy, that it isn't even funny.

Doesn't give people the right to do it in a private area.

So much for proper use of subject/verb agreement in the subject header.

We're not looking for special rights. We're looking for equal rights.

And your analogy of the kid who told black people to leave the store doesn't work. It's not the same thing at all. One is making an incendiary statement that is discriminatory. The other is protesting discriminatory policy.

Of course, I should have known better than to expect an attempt at rational discourse based on the way you've comported yourself since I first saw you here.

What hypocrisy? Why on earth would they protest something THEY AGREE WITH? Opposing what you don't like is NOT hypocrisy!

*shrugs* People can donate whomever they want to, however people also have the right to raise concerns and dissent about such donation and to teach others about such donations.

Sure it does, provided you leave when asked...or are willing to be arrested (which can be even better publicity for your cause).
