What I personaly find facinating is the materials we're made of, we're not made of anything that we can create, or mould, and even more amazingly, we're only 1 or 2 ingredients away from being walking bombs.
Honestly I could go on for hours about this, but I'd rather not spend all night making a forum post lol.

Humans have a very large amount of elements within them. Right now you have Hydrogen, Oxygen, Carbon, Iron, Calcium, Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Sodium and potassium, to list a few.

As I have mentioned in other threads, I have type 1 diabetes, wherein the immune system attacks the insulin producing cells, for reasons that are no fault of my own for that matter. My body would have destroyed itself if not for human technology figuring out what went wrong and how to replace the insulin itself. For all its complexity and intricacy, the human body is not very trustworthy.
Of course, this example applies just to myself and others who have this disease, which is about 1 percent of people. But I doubt it is the only example of this. So many things are severely wrong with human biology that it is over-rated, to say the very least...

So because you're a retard, the human body as a biological entity is iver-rated?

Diabetes sucks. I'm sorry.
The human body is pretty amazing if you think about it though. All those various systems. Also, some female bodies are are indeed quite wonderful.

You can take the route of the Nazis and perform vast amounts of lethal experiments to find out medical functions and such, which did advance our understanding of the human body a thousand fold when we discovered their research notes and other assorted data, or you can wait for non-invasive technology like medical scans to advance to the point where you can examine every part of the living human body without causing them damage, and gather data that way. We're going with option 2, and it takes time. I would say, given a century, nearly every disease we currently have to day will be wiped out and there will be mandatory vaccinations to them for children as we have with tetanus now.

Sociobiology wrote:Remember evolution isnt about producing the perfect body its about producing a good enough one, many of our problems are caused by modern technology allowing those that would simply die off in nature survive, that includes almost everyone over 35.
thats why we uses technology to fix problems when we can, with gene therapy diabetes may well be something only read about in text books.
our ability to alter the body is still very crude(akin to killing weeds with napalm) but we are getting better by leaps and bounds.
for instance it turns out almost all non-food allergies are caused by the part of our immune system that kills parasitic worm, because most people who live in developed countries never get worms as children, the system goes nut because it cant differentiate dander and pollen from worm proteins.
It helps a lot when you country doesn't ban research because they dont understand it.

There will be new diseases. But, those new diseases will be treated, and cured faster.

Well dont forget evolution is why we are weaker since the more advancements we made and the less physical work we did took its toll and made us what we are today but early man was much more stronger and tougher because of how hard things were back then. I mean if took an average man from now and had him arm wrestle an early homosapien he would lose...horribly.
