No. Do you? Well sometimes, but only when I'm bored. Wow that's really strange. No, it's not, it's completely normal, you do it all the time. No, your brain may tell you to do something, you may think about something and than do it. But like conversations with yourself? haha, that's weird. Whatever, screw you! Wow, bro great attitude. Fuck you! No fuck you! Fuck you! Whatever, I'm off. That's right, run bitch, run like the sissy you are. I hate you!

If I do, I try to keep it in my head, but I will talk to myself quietly when no one's around.

Gotta love contradictions. Your avi is hot btw.

I never talk to myself, in my head or otherwise.

Thats a difficult question to answer, I think, as what do you define as talking to yourself? If you simply mean using a sentice in your head, like "oh crap I need gas" or "what colour would look good here? Maybe green.", then yes. I find it hard to quiet down all the talking I do to myself. And when I do it can seem very eerie. But that sort of thing only started happing as I got older, cuz' when I was a kid I remember thinking in pictures alot. I guess I just like to use a socratic method in my head. I suppose I talk to myself in all seriousness alot of the time, as thats how I solve promblems.

Or at least one of us is crazy.

A lot. Sometimes I'm not even aware of it.

Yes, also the tv, radio, etc., I also have a habit of going over scenarios in my head when I'm going to see someone, or do something, of how I think it's gonna go, and/or what I'm gonna say, which results in me somewhat looking like I'm talking to myself.

I usually only talk to myself in my head. But sometimes, if I need to find out what I really believe, I talk out loud to me. It's like I need to actually hear the words to know if it's truly my opinion.

An awful lot, especially when I am alone and I am bored so I just say random funny things.

Yes. Usually when I'm trying to slow my thoughts down and figure out/remember what the hell I'm supposed to be doing. I used to do it at work a lot when I worked for the newspaper, and my boss would just lean to the side and look around the semi-cubicle at me.

Yes. It helps. My brain often comes up with a bunch of different clashing thoughts I can't deal with all at once. You can only speak one thing at once, so talking out the most important one helps things make sense.

Back when I was in college, I often had arguments with myself about what to write if I was writing a paper or something. I would sometimes shake my head and nod as if I was answering myself. My roommates thought I was rather odd when it came to assignments. I don't do it anymore though. Guess I grew out of it or something.

Occasionally, when I'm bored, I'll make comments about things I'm watching or listening to.

Yes. I sometimes have conversations with myself. I especially find it useful when considering some idea to stage a little internal debate on the issue so I can look for flaws in my reasoning and perhaps come to a better understanding of the idea in question.

I talk to myself as a way of organizing thoughts

I'm glad this seems to be a fairly common phenomenon... Has anyone wondered about that "other you" you talk to... How close are we all to cognitive dissonance? Do people who lack this ability to talk to themselves have less of a grasp of self awareness, or are they less able to understand other points of view or their own actions?

Does anyone lack the ability to talk to themselves?

I simply find it annoying. Same reason I don't read over my posts.

When I'm alone I say everything that comes into my head out loud.

In fact, when I read or say something in my head, it doesn't have a voice. What I mean by that is I don't really 'say' what I say in my head, I more..mean what I say. I hope this isn't too weird for everybody to understand. I don't necessarily hear a voice in my head, but I understand the meaning, or the feeling, of what was just said. And it's like blinking to me. If I think about it, then the flow gets messed up and then I have to use a voice to say stuff. It's terribly odd, really..
