If they have the right permits to build a building on private property, they have the right to build a mosque near Ground Zero. Even if you think building it near Ground Zero is a foolish decision, they still have the right to and nobody has the right to deny them permission. If someone wanted to build liquor stores next door to this mosque, that's their right to as well because we're a free country. If you truly love America and the freedom we stand for, you would support whatever people want to do with their private property, as long as it's legal.

But how is this comparable? The Muslims erecting this center didn't cause or partake in the deaths on 9/11 (if anything, some may have been in the buildings/running into the buildings to save people). The terrorists who did attack the WTC no more represent these Muslims then the WBC represents Christianity or Nazis represent Germany. There's no link.

Not all Fascists are Nazi's...infact Fascism seems to be one of the most misused words today. Not all Muslims are radical extremists, I know that. These two things can be compared. But this is besides the point, you can't try and prove me wrong when I agree with you, these muslims are entitled to that Mosque.

Well, I wasn't aruging your agreement... I was aruging your comparing a Muslim community center near Ground Zero to a Nazi Pub next to Auschwitz. We know the Nazis (of the time) did many horrible things are Auschwitz. A nazi anything there would be an insult to they memory (though donno about legality, as I don't know anything about german law). A Muslim center near Ground Zero is nothing like that, as these Muslims did nothing bad at ground zero, nor did most Muslims. And where did I use the word Fascist? How did we get to fascists?
Uh... doesn't mean its not Godwin.

Nazism is a form of Fascism...the most extreme form, as Muslims Extremists are the Extreme form of Muslims.....are all Muslims and Fascists bad...no, but are extremists...yes. I used Nazi as an example, as people are obviously tender to the events that happened at ground zero, and the the typical stereotyping is that all Fascist's or Germans are Nazi's. Neither of which is true. Sure we all know not every Muslim or Fascist is bad, but placing building that reminds people of that history, near the place the event happened is offensive to the broad mass. However, like agreed on, here in the United States that is there right. Despite the fact it's like a slap in the face to those who care.

It would've made sense if you had compared Germans to Muslims, considering not every German was a Nazi.
Just like not every Muslim is a fundamentalist terrorist.
But hey, then it wouldn't be as effective of a scare tactic.

Theres actually no mosque at ground zero. Thus you'd need the "some blocks away church" etc....
