    CHURCH NEAR A PLAYGROUND.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

you know, it strikes me that there is a bit of a disanalogy here, in so far as we know that the entire leadership of the catholic church engaged in a centuries-long conspiracy to help predator priests touch kids/nuns/parishioners and get away with it. basically, there is much more reason to prevent catholic churches from building within a quarter mile of a playground than there is to oppose the muslim community center.

Nekkid wimmin, horse racing, and barbeque are all Amurican, but the bible forbids all three, so God hates Amurica.

No, no, naked women, horse racing, and BBQ aren't in The Bible. Brotherhood with all peoples, tolerance for God-fearing folk, and Faith in the One, on the other hand, totally is.

They would have said, this is a matter for the New-York city council to decide. Which it did, or the zoning board or whatever.

Muslims love horse racing- it was a favorite sport of the Prophet. Betting is forbidden, though.

Given that it's an Off-Track Betting outlet, yeah, I don't see many devout Muslims hanging out there.
