Probably not Panzerjaeger, but I do see so many polar extremes sometimes, however I suppose you couldn't say they were far right or left people, just certain opinions. Variety is the spice of life though I suppose.

In real life, every 'leftist' I know tends to act like either:

A) An arrogant, "i r uber-genius" arse.

or

B) A self-righteous, better-than-thou, religious "feel-good" arse.

In either case, EVERY real life leftist I know (I'm not stereotyping, I'm completely serious. EVERY ONE that I know. Every SINGLE one) dismisses all of my arguments on politics. They constantly bring up the idea that "Ayn Rand killed more people than anyone else in history" (seriously) and "Capitalism has failed the US", and, whenever I try to make a logical argument (ex: "Ayn Rand never killed anyone. And neither has individual freedom. Karl Marx labeled feudalistic societies 'racial trash', Che Guevara was a mass-murderer, Mao killed more people than anyone else in history, etc." or "The United States is more of a syndicalist 'third-way' economy, with a mix of a few capitalist ideals, with a lot of socialist ones. It's simply freer than, say, Saudi Arabia.") they simply say "I don't want to talk to you" (I'm actually serious. They don't even dodge the question, then say this. They simply say "I don't want to talk about this" after they brought up the subject) or "Read up; you're ignorant".

Family members and friends who are leftists annoy the HELL out of me: not because they are leftists. Not because they hold political views other than mine. In fact, I LOVE debating and arguing ANYTHING, MOST OF ALL politics.

What annoys me is that they blindly dismiss me, claiming I'm either uneducated and should "read up" (when they can't even explain what Marxism is, let alone who Karl Marx was), or they make some idiotic claim about how the "United States killed 50 million people in Guatemalan genocides" (Yes, I was actually told that. That came from the same Che-loving person who told me that the 1985 Mexico City Earthquake killed half the population of Mexico... not only that, but they KNEW what the population of Mexico was, and they STILL claimed it killed 50+ million people).

On the NS forums, MOST leftists are quite arrogant (that would be because this is NSG)... most right wingers are either silent or arrogant partisan Republicans on the forums, or are right-wingers of the laissez-faire sort, and actually debate (as do some left-wingers... I have yet to meet a Neocon, who is essentially a right-wing socialist, who debates with facts).... but, for me in real life, it's EVERY SINGLE LEFTIST I've EVER MET who acts like that.

Right-wing-thinkers who I know in real life don't even talk about politics and, when a left-wing ideologue begins to beat them up, insult their views (claim that "You know, the United States has killed more people than any other country in history, and it's all because of capitalism" [which we haven't practiced since the 1800's, and even then...]), or just scream loudly "Viva La Revoluccion!" (yes, I know someone who does that, who happens to be the same person who though 50,000,000+ people died in an earthquake and were killed by US-sponsored genocide in Guatemala), they just shut up and say "okay...".

I disagree with most 'right wingers' I know on most issues (they at least discuss them with me if I ask), due to the fact that I'm an Objectivist, but, at least in real life, they are not arrogant, dismissive, obnoxious and loud psychos like the leftists I know (and, when I say leftist, I mean one socialist who loves Marx, Mao, Castro, Che, and Chavez and claims to be a "socialist with some communist views" and several other self-defined "liberal democrats" who couldn't name who wrote the Communist Manifesto, but seem to like screaming about how great Obama is... I mean, literally, drunken screaming about it... they're from Texas... George Bush's hometown, actually... not that I'm stereotyping that all Texans like drinking--.... okay, I am).
Libertarian Purity Test Score: 160
Capitalism is always the answer. Whenever there's a problem in capitalism, you just need some more capitalism. If the solution isn't capitalism, then it's not really a problem. If your capitalism gets damaged, you just need to throw some capitalism on it and get on with your life.

Look, you can't just say an ideology makes it's people arrogant. If it does, it's probably because it's won the ideological popularity fight one too many times (it's not like Rightism has that many shining beacons of light).
