Former First Lady Nancy Reagan joined California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Simi Valley today for a ceremonial signing of a bill making February 6th “Ronald Reagan Day.“
The 89-year-old former first lady was balancing on a cane and the governor’s arm as she walked into the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
She smiled as Schwarzenegger signed a pair of bills one marking the yearly celebration of Reagan’s birthday in California and the other establishing a commission to plan Reagan centennial events.
Schwarzenegger told the audience, “Ronald Reagan is my hero.“

Ronald Reagan should be the fifth face on Mount Rushmore. Ronald Reagan today is a better President than the Kenyan Moslem can ever dream of being.
Meanwhile, those who would post such asinine posters aren't fit to shine Reagan's shoes, and will be forgotten the day they die, if anyone knows who they are now.

Because any criticism of Papa Reagan is a heresy against true American values.

By the time they reach the eighth grade, nearly 50 percent of adolescents have had at least one drink, and over 20 percent report having been “drunk” (1). Approximately 20 percent of 8th graders and almost 50 percent of 12th graders have consumed alcohol within the past 30 days (1). Among 12th graders, almost 30 percent report drinking on 3 or more occasions per month (2).
Approximately 30 percent of 12th graders engage in heavy episodic drinking, now popularly termed “binge” drinking—that is, having at least five or more drinks on one occasion within the past 2 weeks—and it is estimated that 20 percent do so on more than one occasion (2).
Apart from being illegal, underage drinking poses a high risk to both the individual and society (3). For example, the rate of alcohol–related traffic crashes is greater for drivers ages 16 to 20 than for drivers age 21 and older (4). Adolescents also are vulnerable to alcohol–induced brain damage, which could contribute to poor performance at school or work.
In addition, youthful drinking is associated with an increased likelihood of developing alcohol abuse or dependence later in life. Early intervention is essential to prevent the development of serious alcohol problems among youth between the ages of 12 and 20.
Underage alcohol use is more likely to kill young people than all illegal drugs combined (5,6).

Okay, fair enough. People get drunk. This generally is not considered a problem.Approximately 30 percent of 12th graders engage in heavy episodic drinking, now popularly termed “binge” drinking—that is, having at least five or more drinks on one occasion within the past 2 weeks—and it is estimated that 20 percent do so on more than one occasion (2).
Binge drinking, on the other hand, is a problem. But it's also a problem shared with nineteen percent of people over age thirty-five. In fact, the drinking age, by restricting opportunities to access alcohol, encourages young people to drink more when they do have access.Apart from being illegal, underage drinking poses a high risk to both the individual and society (3). For example, the rate of alcohol–related traffic crashes is greater for drivers ages 16 to 20 than for drivers age 21 and older (4). Alcohol-related traffic crashes? Apart from the fact that young drivers are considered to be in an "alcohol-related' crash when the other driver was drunk, it is expected that traffic crashes are more prevailant among younger drivers: they haven't had as much experience driving. As for the brain damage, one must examine the study that got those results. In that study, rats were given an extremely high amount of alcohol, which did result in brain damage. Such a large amount is not consumed in social drinking. In addition, youthful drinking is associated with an increased likelihood of developing alcohol abuse or dependence later in life. Early intervention is essential to prevent the development of serious alcohol problems among youth between the ages of 12 and 20.
Why, then, is alcoholism more prevailant in the United States, with a drinking age of 21, higher than, say, Greece, which doesn't have any drinking age? Or, for that matter, shoppe purchase age, and a bar age of 17.Underage alcohol use is more likely to kill young people than all illegal drugs combined (5,6).
That makes sense. Alcohol is legally available to those over the magic age, and can then be given to those who have not yet received their magical alcohol tolerance the moment they turn 21.
Must I really go on? The "science" behind MLDA 21 is, quite simply, bullshit. Even if it were shown to be riskier for those under 21, it is a clearly discriminatory law and therefore violates the fourteenth amendment.
