Racism entering Schools?

I live in Quebec where there's a backlash against the growing immigrant population from the "native" French population. Racism is on the rise if anything.

And it shouldn't be a problem in schools if there are any kind of proper anti-bullying measures in place. Does Quebec hamstring teachers like the UK does?

Yeah, you're pretty much not allowed to do anything here in the US. There are kids in high school who get the same punishment as the bully for merely hitting back...It's bullshit

Also I don't know what kind of immigrants Quebec gets so I don't know if it's them or the natives causing the problem.

Its not an issue of bullying, its like an ethnic conflict.

Quebec gets a lot of immigrants from poorer French-speaking countries like Algeria or Haiti and also many Arabs from Lebanon, Syria, and the like. They do get a bit obnoxious, but not all of them obviously.

anyway, he got a weeks suspension and the person who started it got told by the counselor that he did nothing wrong

Yes. Imma say 11 or 12 years ago when I was in grade school somewhere in Indiana I was the only dark skinned person at my school. I was there for three mouths before the asked my mother to take me out of the school because I didn't belong.

My dad didn't know who I was talking about when I used the kid's name, so he asked me what he looked like and I started explaining, "He has black hair and his skin is brown" etc. My dad said, "You mean he black?" and I said, "No! He's BROWN!" because I didn't get the whole race thing. My dad had to explain it to me a couple of times before I stopped arguing that the kid was brown.

I wish I could unlearn the whole thing, and we could all forget about race.
