Not to mention the whole issue with wife and her unreasoning dislike of beards.

My woman always demands I shave. seems to be a Korean thing against beards.

I think Japanese women share it.

I'll be happy when the rainy season stops and I can go back to my electric, it might not be as good of a shave, but there's less burn and it takes less time so I'm miserable less.

I shave my beard about every three weeks, trimming my moustache, below my lower lip, and the neck as necessary. I'll probably keep clean-shaven when I have work again.

It is funny you look at all the old paintings and statues and the men in Korea have beards.
You ask why and the response you get is they did it because they believed their body belonged to their parents(a Confucian thing) so they can't so they can't remove any of their hair.
Wait a little bit and ask why all Korean men shave today(except a few grandpas) and they will say it is because our bodies belong to our parents.
Sometimes Korean logic confuses me then I remember to drink more makoli(alcoholic) and it all makes sense.

I usually shave at least once, sometimes twice a week, keeping a goatee sometimes, or at least a mustache, though I'm probably going to shave it all soon. I would say that between using a safety with shaving cream and using an electric, I would opt for the safety. Personal preference.

By the way, what exactly rains down from the skies in Japan?

Razor blades are a goddamn con, part of the issue is that I can never remember what razor I have, they change all the time and they might have 3 blades, they might have 4, they might be called Ventro, or Quantro or Schizmo, I have no idea,

So generally I buy the special offer multipack each time, which comes with a razor, some blades and generally some shaving cream, which can sometimes turn out to the cheaper than the blade replacements, which must use NASA technology given the price.

For all that, I shave in the shower, saves time, about once every 5-6 days, I allow until I itch,

Maybe at one point in time, but now? Not really. I know a number of JETs with beards.

Not that what JET thinks would be an issue, I'm two years out of JET.

A is unfixable, I suspect. That's the real kicker.

B might be curable. Presented as a fait accompli, it might turn out not to be a problem.

C is loltastic. I trim up every week or so to keep my beard somewhere between an 1/8th of an inch and about a 1/2 inch.

A: is damned annoying.
B: might not be. Or rather, I might be able to keep the beard, but loose other privlages. Something about itchy sandpaper and sensative areas.
C: However is quite possible given how thick my hair comes in everywhere else. There's a reason I don't go shirtless.

I remember someone telling me you're supposed to change them every 4-5 shaves or something, I was like 'what!', I keep them going until it takes a two-fisted grab to scrape the stubble off.

Are they made of diamond-encrusted space titanium? I don't think so,

Also, much like cell phones or laptop adaptors, each damn razor fits in a different way so they not inter-changeable,

Shaving in general in such a pain that I feel it equals out periods and pregnancy, huzzah for the male population!

The only place I shave is my arm pits, and even then about every 2 weeks to once a month. I am virtually hairless(like those hairless cats) - the hair on my arms and legs is totally invisible; it's beyond pale blond; very little if any.

I only shave my face, and then, only down to stubble level, never clean shaven. It's a good look for me, and I'm never asked for ID at bars and bottle-os.
