Thanks to Japan's rainy season, I'm having to forego using my electric razor and am back to the joys of shaving cream and a safety. I am not a happy camper with this. I dislike shaving even with the electric, the blade even more so. So tell me, NSG, do you shave? How often? How do you shave? WHAT do you shave?

I hate shaving only slightly less than I hate having a beard. So I shave as rarely as I can get away with without it itching...usually about 4 days. Then it's time to break out the Mach 3 and remember just how much I hate shaving and why. And I usually miss a patch or two.

Used to use an electric, but was never a big fan.

Junk gets a trim every here and again as well.

I've developed a rhythm now where I shave every two to three days, with a cheap, plastic thingy. Any less and I don't get the look I want, any more and it starts turning red.

I'm going to invest in an electric one when I move out at the end of the year.

See, this is why it's not fair. I get in heavy whiskers and even with shaving, I have a 5 o'clock by 11 am, but if I just try to let the damn thing grow out, it doesn't. It just gets to a point where I look like a bum in need of a shave and then stops.

Not to mention the whole issue with wife and her unreasoning dislike of beards.

Mach 3 is decent. I've used Quattros, too, and now there's the Gillette Fusion with five blades.

I don't need it for facial hair... and I have found that more blades = fewer nicks.

I haven't tried more blades, mostly because the razors keep getting more expensive, and Mach 3 is the one that got sent to me on my birthday...might be worth a shot though...

If I'm feeling a really bad need to be unfurry, I'll drag the electric razor across and leave stubble. I don't like being clean-shaven, and I don't think it suits my face, so it very rarely happens. I think I did it in 1995.

Yes, I shave. About once a week, or whenever I see my bf. I shave in the shower, with a Gillette Fusion razor. Just my face and upper neck.

I use the Mach 3, I had a sample Gillette Fusion (5 blades) that I used for a while but the replacement blades are pricey and it is little different from the Mach 3 (3 baldes). I started shaving with a single blade shaver and then I discovered 2 bladers which was a big step up and still cheap. Then I got the Mach 3 as a stocking stuffer and I'm hooked on the pricey 3 bladers.

I have a van dyke beard, and I shave about every 2nd day as I don't mind the 5 o'clock shadow on day 2 so much.

Getting older has been interesting, now I have to trim my nose hairs on occassion too, and I'm getting the odd ear hair to.
