/b/ is a hivemind and when it actually works together it can do amazing things and terrible things. There was one time someone posted pics of a them mutilating an animal within a few hours /b/tards had located that persons place of residence and turned them into the local authorities who charged them with animal cruelty. It changed the Times top 100(and also marblecake) they often change the top searched phrases on google... Jessi slaughter deserved everything that happened to her and all the butthurt moral fags tried defending her despite the fact she posted provocative photos of herself and this includes a photo of her doing a handbra and her threatening people's lives and saying she is going to kill them. luckily /b/ backtraced her when she lashed out on them. the consequences were never the same. also mentioned earlier Chanology is great. Also they are voting up Justin Beiber to tour North Korea which is currently number one. They also got rumors spread about beiber dieing in car crash... collectively they do bad and good things alot of things seem bad from the outside but is skewed by the medias love of a "supposed victims"... also it is pretty lulz when you have participated or actively lurked a raid and watch the horrible slant it gets when it makes national news. but i digress the cyberpolice are most definitely backtracing everyone on /b/ you cant really hide behind being 12 and not understanding this. amidoinitrite

maybe so but most the time i just lurk and most of /b/ is normal individuals in every day life. Just on /b/ on a website with the feeling of being anonymous everything you wanted to do say or feels comes out... in psychology classes in college there are whole sections, chapters, and studies devoted to how humans react when they feel anonymous. Pretty interesting stuff. like i said most /b/tards are normal people and not these nerdy anti-social anarchist... i personally just identify with their humor... i dont go to /b/ for the porn i dont even click on porn threads or anytype of porn threads... i dont look at gore.... i find the humor refreshing and enjoyable also it is fun to cause a little bit of mayhem and get people mad

Actually, I don't consider myself furry but I've looked at a bit of fchan stuff. Much of it is just disgusting (I don't think I need to go into details on examples) but I liked the style of some of it... like some of the petplay drawings (extra irony points for the participants being animals) and one particular drawing of... I think it was lesbian foxgirls in sports jerseys, or something like that? It was well drawn...

4chan is many things to many people. To Faux News, 4chan is a hazardous "Leftist Internet Hate Machine" filled with domestic terrorists. To others, it is that site full of weeaboos, trolls, and pedophiles that churns out many of the Internet's most popular viral content. 4chan and Anonymous are defenders of the Internets, and offenders of everything else.

At its core, 4chan is an anonymous Japanimation-themed collection of image boards based on the popular Japanese site 2ch.jp. 4chan is proof positive that the United States should not have stopped with Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but should have nuked the entire island of Japan off the face of the Earth. However much it has facilitated, I doubt it is comparable in severity or frequency to what 4chan has facilitated...

So? You're using the internet, 4chan is on the internet... therefore, what can we conclude about you?

There is a difference between using a medium, and using part of a medium. If someone were to claim that the Grand Theft Auto games are indefensible (not a perspective I agree with, mind you, I played GTA2 a bit myself) that would be different from claiming that the entirety of video games are an indefensible medium.

Similar thing here, you are comparing use of a particular website to use of an entire medium. A medium that enables me to communicate with people all over the world in ways that regular in-person conversation never would. A medium wherein typing words into search engines can lead me to more info and entertainment on a specific subject I choose, in an easy and convenient manner. These are just some examples of things for which using the Internet is better than, well, not using it.

On the other hand, I am not convinced of any particular advantage, other than perhaps in the field of trolling, to using a site like 4chan. You claim they are in it for the porn, but there are plenty of ways to find porn, so they have alternatives... which still therefore begs the question as to why they go to 4chan in particular.

If you're playing the group blame game I think it should work for anything you have a choice about.

I've already explained why people go onto 4chan, at this point you just seem like you have a grudge(trolled too hard on /b/ before?) or can't differentiate between those who do wrong and those who don't.

Another example:

On NS there are Neo-Nazi nations and regions. By Hayteria's logic, we're all responsible for things they do and say because we're using the same site.

Or Youtube. There are awful, nasty people on Youtube. I use Youtube, so do lots of other people. By Hayteria's logic, everyone who uses Youtube now and then to find a funny video is responsible for everything the familiar "youtube comment asshole" says, by virtue of using the same site.

Or Google. So many people use Google. Probably a murderer is using it right now, as we speak.

Close enough. Some people there are interesting, but for the most part it's fun to troll them and their troll raids are hilarious.
