Advocating free-will charity is quite a bit different than"no-state" state enforced wealth redistribution.

And the notion that rich people are potentially less likely to enter the kingdom of God is not communist. It merely demonstrates the truth behind the corrupting allure of wealth, and the amassing of wealth.

One can be rich, and still a Christian (that is to say, a follower of Jesus).

No, one can be rich and call oneself a Christian. Not the same thing.

No, you can be rich and still be a Christian. It just becomes harder as the more wordly riches you have, the harder it is to give your soul to the Lord. That doesn't make them mutually exclusive.

No, you can't. If you're rich, you're not a Christian, you're lying to yourself and paying lip-service to Christ.

Jesus was pretty explicit about giving away your wealth. If you have wealth, you're placing your temporal comfort above Jesus' will - and that means you're no real Christian.

Do not falsely equate being rich with having worldly comforts.

Don't pretend that that would be a false equation.

They aren't mutually inclusive. I know a rich man who lives a modest lifestyle, in his 30 year old home, and puts his pants legs on one at a time like the rest of us.

You either know a rich man, or one who lives a modest lifestyle. They are mutually exclusive.

Even if your rich man lived in a cave and wore only skins, the huge stacks of currency waiting in some corner for the whim to take him, mean he is not living a 'modest lifestyle'.

He's also obviously NOT doing what Christians are supposed to do, so I hope he doesn't claim to be one.

Once again, stop falsely equating rich with being living luxuriously. I could be a hermit but still have 1 billion dollars in stock.

Then I'm both, am I not?

Meh. It's pulling away from the topic anyway, so I'm not going to keep responding, over and over. It clearly is deceptive for exactly the reason I just said. That's fine, they can lie to themselves if they wish. They can even tell me they are Christians, so long as they don't expect me to believe it.

Being the prince of peace I would suspect he is a monarchist. That does however not mean monarchs can be quite population-friendly in their reforms. I mean, Napoleon easily crushes any communist hybrid so far in terms of advancing the quality of life and economical state/welfare of a nation.

That being said some wealthy men who have a lot of money don't really spend it like Nero did. So I would suspect wealthy, yet generous men to be just fine in the moral sense.

Christos, Messiah, Annointed One... different languages saying the same thing ;)

no i dont think they really mean the same thing at all.

Why not ?
Messiah* is Hebrew for annointed one.
Christos** is Greek for annointed one and the way the Greeks themselves translated Messiah.

* Yesyes, in Hebrew writing the word looks different.
** Yesyes, just like the Jews the Greek used their own alphabet.

Getting an education was a bit like a communicable sexual disease.
It made you unsuitable for a lot of jobs and then you had the urge to pass it on.

Not going to read the whole thread, but I will say absolutely 100% that Jesus is not a Communist...Nor a socialist. Jesus would never be those things.

Nor would he be a Republican, Conservative, Libertarian, Democrat, centrist, etc.

Jesus didn't come to play around in the insignificant, human created ideologies. What are they compared to His Kingdom? He came to initiate a new way, and not fit into any form of human social structure. He came to establish a kingdom far more powerful than anything we can create, or even fathom. These earthy kingdoms focus on controlling men and women through power and coercion. He came to rule through the hearts of people. Love is his economic system, and righteous justice is his rule of law.
Proud Christian and Democratic Socialist.
